Between my 2019 nightmare of a truck (cab leak, cracked in a body weld, transmission replaced at 37k, 5.0 sucking 3.5qts every 4k) and now my 2021 (turbo wastegste already replaced at 19k).

My 2021 F150 now has paint peeling from the roof near the rain channel. Of course it happens 6 months after I hit 36k and no longer covered.

I'm about done with Ford and their PISS POOR QUALITY and workmanship. I had a RAM 1500 with 150k on it zero issues just horrendous gas mileage. I'll take that back at this point.

That paint peeling is not a good sign for trucks in that color (Oxford White) and at that same plant.
It can show up on a lot of trucks if it's a flaw in the process. That's really sad.
I'd make an effort to respectfully request Ford to show some goodwill and address that.
And that would start with a dealership that sounds like they would advocate for you.

Yeah I've seen a few white trucks like this from previous gens. It's always in the same place. fwiw, aluminum is notoriously hard to have long term coatings success with relative to steel. No rust holes though! Just powdering and flaking if it's real bad.

I wonder if the 5 year corrosion perforation would apply to this. Either way, Ford should step up to the table for this one.

Ford won't step up to the normal consumer. My 2019 when my truck was in the shop over 70 days they refused rentals, wanted the loaner back. Found mold in the cab from water leak and once I got legal involved they took care of the issue ASAP and won my case against them. Then in shop for over 30 days for a new transmission. They'll deny perforation bc there are no "holes" in the body. But will see what they say. If they give me a run around I have no choice than to go with another brand. Yes every brand has issues...but two new trucks and both garbage quality?? That's a clue....

2.5yrs...phew that's long term.

The truck should have ZERO flaking at 2.5yrs old. This truck gets taken care of very well and consistently washed/waxed throughout year. This is flat out unacceptable

What issues have you had with the 2021 truck, other than the paint?

I had a dealership in Lubbock step up and repaint a 1988 Bronco that was beyond the 3/36 warranty. Even just past the 5/60. But that was in the 90's and a much different customer service culture than today.

Wastewater driver side went bad. It's starting to go again it showing the early signs like last time. I have the 125k extended warranty on this truck but it'll prob long gone by then. Drive it to the landfill and drop it off. Passenger seat rattling (when not occupied), dealer hears it but can't figure it out. Rear seat rattles, dealer cannot figure it out, driver side door has a rattle and dealer cannot replicate that one but I got them in the truck and they heard it but when tech takes it out he cannot hear it.

Yes, Def a different world of customer service in today's world...or non-existent at that.

I'd assume paint isn't listed as something the ESP cover, unfortunately.

I feel like this is an area I should check more often just to play it safe.

Paint.. is in a bad state. i have been getting red the last few trucks not that i like red either - ruby red, the GM equiv and this one the race red. 3 or 4 mils with base and second coat versus 2 or 3 mils with a one pass paint, its a $500 adder. but i pick it because i know if we get too thin with the coat from the sun beating on it... it will just flake off. and there are a lot of spots with folds and uneven areas that are just going to get less paint on them. i have a few spots on the edges of the hood - that are thin. i try not to look at them. its hard not to though.

the paints of today are just not what they used to be. i think the laquers and enamals i used to paint items, cars with are outlawed today.. you will rarely see three or four coats result in erosion if its done right. paint and prep are big chunk of the value of a vehicle. sad state we are in. sad.

I could be wrong also but I think it is.
I'll look at my old ESP on my 15.
Haven't bought for my 22 yet.
I'm currently at 14mos\16k

This is the brochure for the 2021 version (8 years tops). Toward the end of the 2022 model year they upped the total years to 10.
