If the choice would have been 3.6KW or 7.2KW, the lessor wouldn't have been such a bummer.
But for a boondocker, the 2.4 is a letdown.

I agree with you for walking away and waiting for the setup that works for your desires.
100% - can you maybe, perhaps squeak by running the A/C and a couple other things with 2.4? Sometimes. But 3.6kw is much "betterer".

With a softstart you can get away with 2.4
But you have a lot less headroom for everything else in the RV. That extra 1200 watts is golden. :)

I don't know how old you are, but it's taken me my entire lifetime for this technology to be available in a vehicle, especially as a camper/boondocker myself. I don't know if I'll go to a travel trailer some day, but one things for sure...... I don't have as many years left to pass up on these options.

As far as the OP that suggested a portable AC power bank as an option....... those aren't even in the same league!! The kW capacity of those units are not even the energy producing capacity of 10 ounces of gasoline! And that's the larger ones. 6 ounces for that mfgrs 1600 watt unit.

Depending on your truck's gas tank size, the built-in pro power will yield you over 1 Megawatt on a tankfull!!!

I'm old
I'm a boondocker at heart.
If I travel towing an RV, it's me getting out of my base station RV and into another.
I jumped on the first year of the Powerboost and it had nothing to do with Hybrid Fuel Economy, if you know what I mean.

Having 7.2KW of energy available, both native to the truck and no longer requiring ancillary equipment, (gas cans and generator) has been liberating for these old bones.

I might be in the same category. I know we selected the 7.2 and made no changes after the order. Once the. VIN was shared I noticed it was listing 2.4 and the window sticker apparently on a 2.4 does not call it out. I just hope Ford did NOT drop this as an option as I will just reorder again - I can wait to get what I want.
To me I would have given up ALOT of savings on the purchase price of my vehicle. Wayyyy to much to justify making a new order.
I'm sure the 2.4 will do what I need 95%+ of the time.

Has anyone else had the 7.2kw ProPower removed from their order?
I got my VIN a couple of weeks ago and when I checked my order online it said 2.4kw ProPower.
I had originally ordered it back in mid april with 2.4kw, but I changed it a couple of weeks following, along with a colour change. The colour is changed correctly but the website shows 2.4kw.
I contacted my dealer who was unaware of any changes. They sent me a photo of their updated order confirmation they received after making the change, which clearly showed that 7.2kw was added... They're checking with Ford but they haven't been able to speak with anyone at Ford yet, but did confirm that when they look in the system it shows 2.4kw and now 7.2kw.
I'm concerned that now that the VIN has been issued that I'm SOL.
ETA for the truck is October 17th, so it hasn't entered any production or anything yet, but would REALLY like to get this sorted out if possible.
My Dealership was thinking there may be a shortage of parts for the 7.2kw but I haven't been able to find anything online yet in my search to say this has happened to others. Are there others out there who experienced the same issue?
I didn't have your problem of the 7.2Kw PP being changed to 2.4Kw. If it had been, the dealer could have shoved the truck up any orifice he wanted, cause I would have rejected it straight away. Only reason I got the PP was the 7.2Kw generator.

I took your advice once I saw I got locked in at 2.9 Financing and the price of the truck increases and likely higher interest rates later - I am super happy I got what I did.

Another member had it done in under an hour. I want to say all that needs to be done is swap the panel in the bed, the inverter and recode the system for the 7.2KW setup. I did some digging and the power panel runs about $340USD, but I couldn't locate anything on the inverter/generator. ?
What is the part # for the 220v panel?

Are you trying to retrofit your lightning with the additional 7.2kW inverter? That's a much bigger project than you realize which includes replacing the entire HV cabling from the batt to the motor inverters, 2.4 inverter, AC unit/s, and the DC/DC.

Are you sure it not just standard in the truck? I can see the 220v inverter.

If you had both inverters, they'd come wired up. The 2.4 for the frunk is in all trucks. The additional / optional 7.2kW unit in the lightning is an entirely separate part. The 2.4 is a single phase 120v that feeds the entire truck. If you option the 7.2kW, it feeds the bed panel only containing 4 120v 20a outlets and the 4 prong NEMA generator outlet.

Someone sent a pic with then 7.2kw same connection and wires. Only has the red, green, and white for the orange cable.

So long as you can show the paperwork for the order and then the change, in a timely manner, you are not obligated to accept the truck without the 7.2 kW. Of course then you get back in line for another truck.
