I purchased my 2023 Ford F-150 on January 6, 2024. I joined the Texas Farm Bureau before then, and obtained my certificate on February 9, 2024. I reached out to Ford and they told me get with my dealer to process the certificate, and I should receive a $500 check in the mail afterwards.

My dealer says "We tried to claim your farm bureau today, but ford is telling us it is not compatible because you already received an incentivized interest rate" I financed my truck through Ford Credit with their offer of 2.9% for 72 months.

Is it true that Ford will not allow you to process the $500 Farm Bureau certificate if you used an incentivized rate, or is my dealer full of crap?

I was able to use a Farm Bureau credit with Ford financing at the time of purchase. I would say the dealer is feeding you a line. If I remember correctly, you had to be a member for a period of time prior to purchase for the credit to available.

Was your financing rate a promotional financing rate? For example, Ford is currently offering 1.9% for 72 months on 2023 F-150s.

I was told the military, college grad, first responder and Farm Bureau rebate are all additions to any incentivized rates (if you qualify). I got the Farm Bureau and promotional interest with Ford Credit.

and yes, I think the disclaimer reads that you have to had signed up for Farm Bureau at least 30 days prior to taking advantage of the rebate.

yes your dealer is full of manure
you cant use Farm bureau, military, 1st responder or the other programs in conjunction with each other, you only get ONE
but they are not tied to the rate or interest of the loan via ford motor credit

This is so true! They advertise all of them, even include them in the discounted price, but you can only use one. I take whichever is higher of course.

some sneaky dealers even try to snag your pco as not applicable and the cash back
but then again many great dealers HELP you and get all you are allowed, it does not hurt them, they get a sale and all that.

Here is what is posted by Ford and a link to the page. Unless I've missed it I don't see any mention of financing affecting eligibility to use the incentive. I know in previous years it did not affect it, the incentive was just like applying cash to the purchase.

My salesman showed me a Ford website that had all the incentives available, (Farm Bureau etc...). When they selected my farm bureau some of the other incentives that were not compatible went away. I would ask to see that web site so you can pick & choose which ones are compatible to get the most $$$. I know I got the first responder & Farm Bureau on my 22 F-150. Believe the report they can call up with all the info is called Smart Vincent, good luck.

Thanks but I already purchased the truck last month, I got my Farm Bureau certificate this month. Ford says I have 120 days to process the certificate from date of purchase. Dealer says Ford won't let them process the $500 certificate because I used to 2.9% for 72 promotional financing rate through Ford Credit.
I think that the dealer doesn't want to help me because it's extra work for them and they already made the sale.

When I got my 2022 (Granger) they offered me the list of incentives I was eligible for based on the order date and delivery date. One option listed (order date) included the FB coupon that I never mentioned, and 0% financing for 36 months. Unless something has changed recently, it might be a load of bull.

This will sound more harsh than it is meant. Take this as a life lesson when working with car dealerships. They will do anything to get the sale, but rarely give you two shits once you sign the paperwork. Always make sure you're getting what you want before you sign and if they owe you anything, it is written down with their letterhead, signed and dated. Never accept anything verbal, regardless of state law, because a lawyer and your time aren't cheaper than the $500 loss here. Chalk this one up to one of life's taxes. Feel free to keep chasing this though, you just have to decide what your time is worth.

I didn't know you can use the Farm Bureau cert after the sell.

I'm glad I had mine when I bought my F150 (last year) and Maverick. I bought my Maverick on Jan 5th. Because of the timing of last years expiring and this years being issued, I had to print out the new one the day before I bought the Maverick.

^^^ THIS ^^^

I had this happen when I bought my 2012 F-150. Got skunked for $500. In the end, I fell for a line that I knew I shouldn't have. But the truck was CALLING OUT to me and I was less careful than I should have been.

When I was in the military way back in the mid-1980s (with young family, etc.) I got skunked when the dealer told me no rebates were available on the auto we were buying and I signed the "no rebate" block (harder to get info back then). The next day there was a full page add in USA Today stating that rebates were continuing for the vehicle I just bought.

Went back to the dealership and they laughed at me. I was pissed. Next stop, my friend at the Legal Assistance office. Told my lawyer friend the story and she said that I was the case they needed to take action against the dealership.

They did - the post commander putting the dealership off-limits - and it was forced to close within 3 months.

As they were closing up - on one of the last days they were "open," I went back to see the folks who laughed at me. In addition to me using some choice words I left making sure they saw me laughing at them. Almost worth the $1k rebate I lost out on.
