5.0 v8 muffler swap

Here’s one I found but from what it shows in the comment section he had an American Thunder-cat back system and replaced those mufflers with the 50 series Delta flow.

So not quite just a muffler swap. (ie; 2- tailpipes & resonator delete)

Yea I’ve watched this one, definitely way too loud with the cat back system.

I just went and measured my stock exhaust that I took off on Sunday. The inlet for the muffler is 2 3/4 inch O.D. and the outlet side is 3 inch I.D.
The first picture is inlet. Second is the outlet side measured at the end of the tailpipe. Third pic is of the muffler outlet.

What did you end up putting on ? If I want to use the factory tailpipe the new muffler would have fo be a 2.5” inlet and 3” outlet correct ?

Yes, you are correct on the inlet and outlet. I think there will be a bit more involved with swapping the muffler as the pipe starts to bend up over the rear axle almost immediately at the muffler outlet.

I took my original exhaust off and put on the Borla S-Type catback system with dual rear exits.

Yea i was hoping to reuse the tailpipe but I doubt that’ll be possible since the bend is almost immediate. I ended up ordering the Borla pro xs.
