Has to be a Godzilla PowerBoost with 50A service for the Brinkley 5th wheel in tow.

The powertrain will be a job site monster and ideal mobile command center and overland dream machine.
Yeah, we need a new 12kW inverter with a +100/50% 1/3 second peaking capability that does a sustained 53 amps before tripping. 106 amps w/ 240v to start a motor. Furthermore they'd open up 400v for HVDC powered devices, or use the inverter if applicable for PTO output vs traditional trans connected (allows hybrid mode for PTO). That could power a spray foam rig as well, those things can eat some power.

Even though the heavy duty trucks are exempt from fuel economy standards and city/highway MPG figures on the window sticker; there’s still a lot of current and looming regulations on engine idling.

The Powerboost technology really solves a lot of the problems that idling trucks have; mainly just keeping the AC or heater on. Then there’s the sign trucks and the ones just crawling along at 3mph.

As far as the SuperDuty hybrid, I think 12KW and 3 phase power availability would be pretty sweet. Maybe even team up with Lincoln or Miller and have an integrated welder.

Think payload may be an issue specially in the F250 going with much larger battery.,. Something to keep an eye on too… need to be in that 2K plus at least

How so? Does someone make a kit to do this that addresses the sensors as well as coolant routing? I'd like to loop the coolant pipes right at the engine or close to it, so that all of the plumbing that goes down the side of the truck could be removed. To me, it is a huge vulnerability to have engine coolant plumbed underneath 8 feet of the truck. A rock or road debris could puncture one of those pipes, and your SOL
Most of those pipes are hard aluminum lines. You could remove all of that, but it would be a huge undertaking and wouldn't get you much. The easy method is to just use the heater hose barbs on the in-line coolant temperature sensors and use a 2' length of heater hose as a U to directly connect the inlet and outlet coolant pipes. You will want to cover the hose with a Velcro heat wrap like the one from DEI. As for CELs, you can pry the electronic control module off of the heat exchanger and plug it into the vehicle connector to make the CEL go away. In practice the temperature mismatch CEL only comes on if it is cold.

As for the gains, you are technically correct that the coolant lines could be punctured. In reality, there is a near zero chance of that without catastrophic damage to the truck which renders the coolant leak the least of the owner's worries. The real issue that folks have encountered has been the plastic connectors between the coolant lines and the heat exchanger, the exchanger failing in the HEAT position and leaks from the exchanger itself; removing the heat exchanger solves all of those issues.

Hybrid tech is - to me - the ONLY way to go green responsibly at this point in time if going green is important to/for you. It is to me, but there's too much hype.

Overpromising the tech, overestimating the climate threat, underestimating the environmental cost of going green, too much grift in the industry, etc.

But this F250PB? Thoughtful. Helpful. Useful. Necessary.

So, good job, Ford. Don't screw it up. This F250PB would be the thing that finally gets me to do two things: move up to a Super Duty and buy a hybrid.

Why are we assuming this is going to be gas instead of deez?

Ford would be smart to make it work well enough for welders and let it go into the dually as well as the standard bed 6.5s.
