Soo I have an interesting issue if any of you can possibly help me out I have a 25 lariat powerboost with the pro access tailgate I had the dealership install the keypad and they are not allowed to have forscan on the ford corporate laptops so I told them I can handle the programming part. Before i even touched the forscan programming the tailgate button on the key fob wasn’t working I figured it might be from the keypad not being programmed so I programmed the bcm and the keypad started to work but still no tailgate key fob working. I tried switching back the changes I made to the bcm still no luck i scanned a similar truck as mine at the dealership and i noticed my truck’s bcm block 51 was mostly 0’s compared to a similar truck I matched the similar tucks bcm 51 block and was now able to get the tailgate work on the remote but as soon as I update the bcm’s 31 block to add the keypad option the tailgate stops working and keypad works.

Have you double checked that the power tailgate option is turned on the touchscreen?

If the dealership installed the keypad why didn’t they activate it?

They would have done it through FDRS, not Forscan.
I talked to the mechanic ford removed the techs ability to change as build configurations and had them remove forscan now if there is any module configuration issues they have put in a request email to have the engineers in Dearborn do the diagnostics.

Soo after looking it over I noticed it had the block filled out wrong for BCM block 31 it needed to be 31-1-xxx-0101-xxx for tailgate active and keypad enabled. SMH hope this helps someone else if they make the same mistake.

That makes no sense. The Ford dealer here happily installs the keypad, trim panel and activates it in FDRS. It runs about $400 and they are at the point where most of their higher level trucks get it done, and it's added to the addendum.

Might be time for you to check another dealer.

This sounds like an opportunity to make some easy money. Have the dealer send them your way

Exactly!! Unfortunately its gonna be dyeing market the keypad is coming back my Sister is one of the top sales person and they had all the big wigs in from ford at the dealership cause they are on track to be the top 25 Ford dealership in the US for this year. They asked her what is the biggest issue/complaint with sales she told them to bring back the sedans, the F Series chrome package and the keypad back. All the big wigs agreed and funny enough whoever is right under Farley told her its bad enough hearing from every dealership about the keypad I even catch hell at home from my own wife and how bad she misses it so needless to say its coming back in 2026.

Good stuff and congrats to your sister for a job well done!

The Ford technician who did my Recall programming added the keypad through FDRS for no charge.

DD519, thank you for this write up!

I have a 7/2025 build F150 Tremor and can confirm the wiring harness was in my door. I ordered the parts stated in the first post and they fit no problem. Use those part numbers, not what the dealer may suggest. The worst part about the install was snaking the keypad wiring through the pillar and down into the door. Definitely cut my hand up good reaching up inside door. The weatherstripping around the window went back in OK but you can see a small bend on the inside, which i may just use double-sided tape to secure. Overall, about a 90-minute job and well worth it.

Also, I didn't change the values in the as-built configuration tab in Forscan, but rather used the other APIM and DDM option where I could simply set "Wired Keypad" to "Enable".

Thanks again!

I just did this last night and it worked like a charm. Like others have said, the trickiest part is fishing the wiring harness down. For that, if you poke your head into the door a bit with a flashlight and see where the harness and plastic rivet press into, you realize pretty quickly how it needs to be routed. After I did that, it was about 2 minutes to drop the wire along side the window frame and then behind it.

The easy/quick way to remove the bottom exterior window trim is to just grab it in the middle somewhere and give it a swift yank. All of the clips give way much easier than I expected.

One note that someone else mentioned is that the option in the screen didn't show up until the next morning. Once the changes are made and everything rebooted, it wasn't there. It was late in the evening so I called it a night with the intention of trying it again in the morning, but it turns out I didn't have it. The option was there.

And finally, one last note. If you have push button start and want the truck to display the vehicle code, just keep swapping keys. Ignition off, key in the slot, ignition on, ignition off, key 2 in the slot, ignition on, ignition off, key 1 in the slot, etc etc. It took about 3 cycles before it came up on the gauge cluster.

An update from a few weeks ago, installed the keypad, pretty much according to the posted plan. The only change I'd offer (or maybe I missed it) is when dropping the wire down, keep it close to the outside of the door. I initially out mine in toward the inside and has problems with the window hitting it. I had to remove and reinstall.
Also, I could not obtain my factory code with the 2 FOB method, kudos to the guy who pointed out it would appear after the keypad was activated. Thanks much!

Thank you to the OP! I did this on my 2025 and all is working great. The instructions made it so much easier.

Next on my list adding the tailgate release to the dash. I ordered the trim and the button, but they are on backorder. Paid more for less.... Sheesh.

Wanted to add my thanks.

I just did this on my 25 Lariat.

Hardest part was fishing the wire.
I had 2 white fasteners on the wire and I removed the one furthest from the connector. I couldn't find anything to secure it to and didn't want it banging around.

Took me 90 minutes from start to programming and testing.

Question for those more familiar with the as built data than me. When I downloaded the as built data from the Ford website for my truck, the information to activate the wired keypad already matches the data in the spreadsheet.

Specifically my as built data per the Ford website is:
BCM 726-31-01 0000 0101 0061
APIM 7d0-01-02 a300 c62b b927

The truck is a 2025 F150 King Ranch built in January 2025 (sticker on door jam) and I took delivery in January 2025. Is it possible that Ford installed hardware from the previous model year which had the wired keypad and then updated the values after the build to turn the feature off, but their database reflects the original installed components? I ran a VIN from a truck currently on a dealers lot and the values for the keypad seem to be disabled, as you would expect.

Thank you for your thoughts.
