Woke up to this...time for an adventure! And yes, I know some of y'all get this all the time! But in GA it's a big deal :)

Interesting that you had a bad strut already. My truck only has 9k on it and the lt front makes some crazy clunking noises if you going slow (in a parking lot) and hit the brakes. Do you have to have it aligned after doing the front struts? Oh, yeah, 5 in of snow at my house!

Yes, I had it aligned immediately after the 2" spacer lift. It was in spec on all measurements afterwards.

I torqued all the bolts I removed back to factory specs so definitely not issues there.

Mine seemed to be the left font clunk also.

I'm in GA also. Spent a couple hours doing donuts in a cow pasture in the snow this morning. I'm curious how much front lift do you have now after taking the 2" RC spacers off and putting 6112's on?
I'll have to re-take the measurements as I didn't write them down.

But, the 2" spacer vs. the 6112 set at 1.9" resulted in the front being right at 1/8" lower...so there is still a slight rear rake when measuring F vs. R to the middle of the fenders.

Yes, I think right now it seems some of the 24 FORSCAN programming is still up in the air. I'm about to add the auto climate control and do the FX4 downhill assist control with rock crawl mode added...wish me luck
I am also interested, I already have my lariat HSW installed on my STX 24 and I have FORScan ready with the codes but it tells me that the HVAC is not compatible 21-23 to 24

Fair question! Its my buddies garage, although I do have my 2 post lift there (I relocated it from my old house when I moved) and do lots of work on my vehicles there!

And honestly, I just wanted a truck I could start from scratch on. I got $9k off MSRP and figured it was a good base to work with. And as this build will show, I'll get all the XLT options I want for pennies on the dollar vs. buying them with the truck.
I mean, good job, but time is also worth something. Time away from family, from hobbies (other than tinkering on the truck of course), time that could be spent earning money, et al.

Regardless, good luck on your adventure.

Are you planning on doing the fog lights? I just got a '25 Lariat and it has the XLT fogs now. I'd like to see if anyone else has swapped them and for which ones.
I have done some looking and didn't see any good options (yet) for the 2024 STX and now 2025 Lariat/XLT to upgrade the fogs in the OE location. I think I'll just be adding some ditch lights and backup lights before I head to Moab in March.

Thanks...this is the other hobby:

It makes the F-150 mods seem cheap in comparison!

Plus the truck will be the tow rig and once the dealer ever gets my trailer brake controller installed I'll be excited to see how it tows.

Well I survived the snow adventure. I was really impressed with the truck and the BFG KO2 as I know some say they don't do well in ice and snow. For me they did a great job.

I drove it around mostly in the "weather" drive mode and/or 2wd.

Unfortunately, there looks to be one less RCSB on the road

Even found a stock 24 STX to park next to at the store for a comparison shot vs. the 6112 set at 1.9" (for reference my BFG are a 1/4" shorter than the OE tires).

Just to throw my 2 cents in, I have been running a similar sized 285/65r20 Maxxis Razr AT for about 40k miles and they have performed pretty well. They remain quite, balanced, and have worn quite well over the miles, unlike some other ATs I have used. They are slightly harder than some of the other AT's which I think contributes to the longevity, but also detracts from snow performance. They still do pretty well in wet and snow because of the tread and siping, but not as good some of the other softer tires out there

thank you!! BTW, how are you liking the tires so far? Maxxis Razr AT in 295-60-20 did you lose any power? since they 34's. too loud on the freeway?
I rolled the dice on the tires...but lots of good info on here really helped picking the size. You can actually run this combo on this truck with no lift and it does not rub the crashbars!

They are heavy tires, I couldn't really find a tire I like that was not an E load range for the 20" wheels.

OE wheel and tire was 83 lbs and the Maxxis is 103 lbs. You can tell the OE suspension is working harder on bumps with the extra weight...

I definitely lost some MPG and have averaged 17.2 over the last 5k miles with them installed. I drive a 50/50 mix of highway and city in a very conservative fashion.

As far as power, no real noticeable loss...the 10 speed does a great job of keeping these engines in the powerband. It does downshift more frequently now to compensate.

I was very impressed with ride, handling and noise...they are not much louder than a BFG KO Allterrain and were a great deal on Simpletire.com.
was looking forward to a long term review on the Maxxis. Some more PTM pieces will really help the exterior.
Yeah I only had them for right at 5k miles. Most of the reviews I found on them when I was looking to purchase were from Australia...they are huge over there!

My 5k mile closeout review would be this...at around $1k shipped from simpletire.com (after a maxxis and military discount) they were about $800 cheaper than BFG KO3. Normally I would only buy BFG as that's my personal preference, but I knew I wasn't keeping the 20s and just wanted something in the interim that didn't break the bank. The Maxxis looked cool, actually rode very well for an E rated tire and were very quiet so far(comparable to BFG).

For the money, I'd rate them a 7/10 whereas I'd give BFG 8/10. My main buying concern is usually a tire that's not crazy loud on the road, will work well offroad and in the wet & also still looks cool.

I'm interested to hear if you can get the heated wheel to work on your STX. I was reading through some recent threads and thought that it was not programmable on the 2024+ models yet.
I've got a 2025 XL on order with my company and they're having us keep the trucks for a lot longer lease term now, so I'd love to put in my own heated wheel if possible.
I'm curious as well about getting adding a heated steering wheel to my '24 XLT PB. I also heard it wasn't possible. Great build so far.

Here you go...all shots are the front drivers wheel/tire.

My main concern was, "Is my truck going to be covered in crap all the time from the +6?" I'm happy to report that the actual meat of the tread does not stick out from under the fender...the sidewall does but has not presented an issue with slinging up water, dirt, mud on the sides of the truck during normal driving...offroad and bad weather is obviously a different animal.

I think the addition of the OEM fender flare would totally cover the +6 offset difference.

Oh, I also replaced the OE front pads with Powerstop Tow pads. I used them on all my past F-150s and have liked them (obviously that's a preference). I do tow a few long trips a year for racing and have never had issues.

I do not use the Powerstop slotted/drilled rotors and just prefer the OE solid ones with the upgraded pads.

OE takeoffs have 8k miles and if you're local in N GA and want to meet up, you can have them for free.
