Excellent news so far from both of you, thanks! Please let me know when someone tries Google Maps and Waze.

Will do. Stephen/HDT05 says he is running Apple Maps and gets the info in the HUD, so I would think it would work with Google Maps. I also recall reading somewhere in the Ford literature that the Sync system recognizes Waze as well, which would indicate it should also work as well.

PCO: Private Cash Offer. Sometimes/oftentimes Ford will send you an email or there will be a pop up on your screen when browsing on Ford's website. It'll ask you for your email and then they'll send you a PCO code to give to the dealership. PCOs can be anywhere from $500 to $2500. The most common on F150s these days is $2000 but I saw someone got $2500 recently. This PCO usually can't be combined with your First Responder Rebate (I see that you're retired FD). I have found that if you mess around on Ford's website and build a truck, search inventory, and etc. you may trigger the pop-up (don't block the pop-up). It doesn't always work but other times, it does. After all, how else would Ford know that you're in the market and that they needed to send you an incentive to sway your purchase?
Now that you have ordered through Granger, the price you agreed upon on the build sheet will be the most you will pay. If there are any incentives when you order OR any when you take delivery, you can choose which one works best for you. If you don't get a PCO, you should still be able to use your First Responders Rebate and lower the price by another $500. No matter what though, the price will not go up. You are price locked on whatever you agreed upon when you signed and made the deposit.

When you arrive to pick up your truck, you will pay Granger for the truck, $180 for documentation fee, $45 for Iowa transfer tag/title, and the amount of tax for your state/county. In about 7-15 days, Granger will send you a UPS overnight package with the necessary paperwork to take to your local DMV along with a check for your taxes that you already paid made out to your tax collector. Once you take all of that down to your DMV, you will still have to pay for any registration fee, title transfer fee, or whatever else your state may want. Granger only collects your tax.
The perfect response! Thank you for your help!

Next two inquiries:
(1) Photo of the new storage bin in the bed. (How functional is the storage? How secure is the door/hatch?)
(2) Step height from ground to extended power running board. (The challenges of having a vertically challenged wife...)

TIA!

I’ll get some pictures a little later but…
1. I like the storage bin. I think the door/locking mechanism can be improved upon by some aftermarket groups and at a minimum, I’d like to see a lock on the door. Then again, I only plan to keep tie down straps in there since the bed of the truck is where they’ll be used. Still, I’d keep those in a ziplock bag to stay dry too if you don’t have a tonneau cover.
2. The steps could certainly go down further. I often pick up my elderly mother and take her to various places/appointments and I built her a small step out of wood I had laying around. I throw the step in the floor of the back seat when she’s traveling with me. I wish it went down another 2 or so inches.

I'm adding this in just for reference and comparison. I have a 2022 PB Lariat with OEM power running boards.

12.5" from the ground to the deployed power boards.
9.5" from the board to step over and into the truck.

Here are pics of the bed storage. I have the Bak X4s tonneau cover so my bed is always covered but if I didn't have a bed cover, I don't know how water proof the storage box would be. I also don't know if there is a weeping hole in the bottom or not (I didn't look). I mostly use it for tie down straps for when I put stuff in the bed. With a limit of 20 lbs., I don't think I'd put my hitch in there but maybe you could if your particular hitch would fit.

The last pic shows the step height for the back seat but all others were taken from the front passenger side. I have the 22" wheels but no leveling or lift kit and it is still a 14" hike for the passenger to get above the step. I built a small 5" step out of some wood I had laying around for when I drive my elderly mother around. After she gets in, I just throw the step on the floor in the back seat. Without the step, it would be difficult for my 81 y/o mom to get in because the factory running boards don't come down that far. I think the stationary boards that come on other trims is actually lower but I can't swear to it.

Great pics, Phillip. Did you every get a chance to get a look at the undercarriage? I am curious whether your truck came with the felt splash guard (the "diaper") covering the back end of the engine and transmission. From what I have seen, it looks like Ford might doing away with this item. I finally picked up my new KR, and it did not have it - nor did any other MY24 F150 my dealer had on the lot. No need to post a photo - just curious about what you find...

Curious - what engines did the trucks have that were sans the 'diaper' - were they all PB?

Good point, and I should have clarified. My apologies. We only looked at MY24 PB and EB trucks. None of them had the diaper. At the time, my dealer had one PB (in addition to my truck) and three EBs on the lot.

No diaper on mine. The engine and transmission are almost completely bare and naked.

Roger that. Thanks for the feedback. Mine is an FX4 and has the factory skip plates, but nothing covering the transmission. I'm planning to add a Talons Garage transmission/cat cover skid soon - just waiting on some feedback about fitment for MY24.

First and foremost, thanks for all the pics. They're quite helpful.

I'll be installing a tonneau as well, so waterproofing should be covered.

The hitch(es) will go in the under-seat storage. But, like you, I see the bin as the perfect home for ratchet straps and such.

My KR will have 20" rims, but that'll still translate to more than a foot of lift to get to the step.

I built a small 5" step out of some wood I had laying around for when I drive my elderly mother around. After she gets in, I just throw the step on the floor in the back seat. Without the step, it would be difficult for my 81 y/o mom to get in because the factory running boards don't come down that far.
Having helped care for my low-mobility mother-in-law into her early nineties, I understand and appreciate the logistical complexities involved.

I did take pics of it cleaned up. So far, I added a BAK X4s hard rolling tonneau cover, a shorty antenna, and I removed the 4X4 stickers from the rear fender. Since all King Ranch's are 4x4, it is kinda redundant.
One other note, the hood/fender alignment on the passenger side was a little off. The hood was touching the fender near the front of the truck. I loosened the top 3 fender bolts and immediately heard a "pop" and the fender popped back into it's normal and perfect spot. After I tightened the bolts back up, I closed the hood and it was perfect. It's almost like someone was leaning into the fender when they tightened the bolts.

I have the same situation with my platinum and want to do what you did. Which three bolts are you referring to?
