This is what I don't care for my 2021 came with a 30gal tank. Now the PB has a 23gal tank and no option for anything else. (selecting 36gal removes the PB drivetrain)

I still laugh at how Ford advertises the Pro power as great for tailgating when you have to have the truck running to use it unless you have the PB. Nothing says tailgating like sucking exhaust fumes while drinking beer watching a TV in the bed of your truck. Why can't the Pro Power run without the truck running full time? There is still a battery in these trucks. I would love to use my bed outlets for tailgating without having to run my engine.

PB is only dethroned by the raptor R with its blown v8. This is long settled :ROFLMAO:
Well I don't buy it, but you're free to disagree. Part of it is of course Powerboost trucks are often higher optioned trucks that have even more weight.

Either way - besides unnecessary complications - same or .1 difference acceleration, same or maybe 1mpg more. For what? KISS applies here. Keep it simple, stupid. Only reason I'd want power oost is if I needed a generator and I i don't ont.

Wrong, the 3.3 NA was king of performance. Ford only discontinued it out of concern for owner safety. It was like a Dodge Viper with a high center of gravity. Dangerous combo.

I do not agree with "only 1 mpg more". I avg over 26 mpg driving for work which is 100 miles round trip.

I'm sure I'll take a decent mpg hit when I switch to 275/70/18 tires.

I'm taking lifetime average. Straight highway I'm in the 24-25 range. I also use e15 gas which will result in a lower mileage die to increased ethenol. The stations by me sell 88 octane e15 for .30 cents less IIRC.

From what other Powerboost owners have said is the system is dialed in for oem tires. Aggressive tires have been seen to tank the mileage.

Fulley for 2021 shows about a 1mpg difference too.

Very disappointed that I can't get an XLT or Lariat supercrew 6.5' bed with the sport appearance package. I just don't want excessive chrome! Plus a '24 XLT with similar options to my '21 is just over $10K more. No way! Ford is making it tough to stay loyal!!

Appears that I miscommunicated loaded Lariat. If you choose Lariat, Powerboost, 502A, Tow/Haul Package, Bed Utility Package, and 7.2kW Pro Power, it is within $1,300 of a similar Platinum. Give up HUD and better stereo on the Platinum, but you get CCD and 360-Degree Camera Full Activation. There is no charge for PB and the 7.2kW Pro Power on the Platinum.

The stereo is the same for both (edit, wow base plat only has the same radio config as my XLT, LOL)? CCD is meh unless they've refined it, lack of hud on platinum is seriously mind boggling. Both have 360 cams full native. Bed utility costs ~55lbs or so, easier to just add the LEDs.

Main concern for anyone not ordering platinum or KR PBs is that tank size. Unless they've increased the GVWR, those plats are in the 1300lb payload range.

Yes, give up HUD and better stereo on Platinum. I have a Lariat now, but see the Platinum as a better buy when configured as outlined (I have little use for HUD or 6 more speakers). I would like to have black wheels, which also come on the Platinum. A lot is personal preference and Ford is choosing to play to the purchase preferences their sales data is telling them. It's a smart move.

Oof, yeah they really did castrate the base platinum at the right spots to make it a poor choice.

The Pro Access Tailgate is a real question for me. I like the idea. It says late availability, but it is standard for Tremor High (402a), KR and Plat. Does this mean that they will delay production of those trucks waiting for the tailgates? Or will they simply start production with standard tailgates with the dreaded $150 delete credit?

Great question -- Strike deadline is fast approaching, they may not be making any trucks at all for a while. I wouldn't at all be surprised to hear that manufacturing delays of sorts cause deletes. As far as I can tell the motorized up tailgate is only being produced with the integrated step so the delete may just be said tailgate.
