I'm not sure what specifically you saw about glare-free being broken. It works great on my 21 Plat. I find it a ton better than auto highbeams. Glare-free fades in and out, and occludes things in the projection smoothly. The auto highbeams would just flip on and off jarringly. Glare-free keeps portions of the highbeams on for longer compared to auto highbeams too.Hey guys, couple questions regarding some forscan changes I'm thinking about making. I have 2021 Plat fully updated in FDRS.
1) I've been seeing threads over the last few months saying glare free is broken. Is this the case or has a newer update fixed this bug? Is this a true glare free/matrix headlight type ordeal? Can only certain model trucks utilize this? I have the OEM projectors. Is this truly useful or more of a gimmick?
2) Trailer side view - Again, seems like i've seen that this was bugged as well. Will this actually enable the side camera whenever I hit my turn signal without a trailer hooked up?
Thanks!
I believe glare-free on the 24s and newer is not possible. Not technically broken, just not part of the hardware in the headlight assemblies. The best I understand from reading up on this is that Ford had LED projector assemblies that they consolidated for their NA trucks, because glare-free was already in-use in Canada and was expected to be adopted in the US as the same capabilities as the rest of the world. The US instead wrote regulations that call for way faster switching times for the occlusion zones that no current hardware supports, so Ford cost-cut by dropping the capabilities in the hardware that were no longer going to meet US regs.
