Sorry for beating the dead horse, but I've been watching the battery threads for a couple of years now and I've been using a BatteryMINDER Plus periodically to top off my battery. I also run my AC/Heater fan speed at 5 or higher on occasion. My truck is now fully 4 years old. It sits in the garage quite a bit and can go a couple weeks without being started. I checked the resting voltage this morning after sitting for 8 days without any supplemental charging. It reads 12.45V. This seems pretty good to me considering the age of the battery and other's experiences. I've never had any low battery warnings. I wonder if I'm the only one with an original battery and no history of trouble? Maybe 12.45 isn't that great?

2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
According to the chart from Batteries Plus re AGMs, 12.45V is 85% SOC.

Mine is original. ‘21 Job 1–June ‘20.

Why does it matter what speed you have your blower motor on??

There are threads which cover this in detail, but basically the original charging output was lower with fan speeds below 5. The max state of charge was 80% so it wasn't very forgiving of letting the truck sit. I think Ford may have changed this with a software update, but for me, old habits die hard. Do you mean your truck is from June 2021?

Huh, I’ll look for those threads. I didn’t even think to look that up.

I’m pretty sure that my truck was built in June ‘20. Can’t remember how I knew that but being a ‘21 Job 1, couldn’t have been built in the summer of 2021. There was a calculator or something somewhere… I just remember the Job 1 part because I always feel lucky that our truck hasn’t had more issues and because there were some good and bad changes made to the production line right after our truck was built.

I might check my battery but any issues on your end starting the truck?

No issues with starting on mine. I think the first production for 2021 was in September 2020.

Wow, you got me worrying about a whole new thing now. Haha. Been reading the battery forums enough to see that people like H8 batteries and that one person said those won’t work in a PB. Havemt even found posts about the heater fan yet.

I am also now going to try to remember how I figured out my production date.

EDIT: To save somebody else the time…

https://www.ford.com/support/how-to.../how-do-i-find-the-build-date-for-my-vehicle/

I’ll get back to you on that.

My truck was built in sept 2021 so the battery is on the younger side of the 21.

Think the battery issue is more for non PB, the PB has a aux battery so that really helps keep the under hood battery charged.

I have my original batteries on my 2021. They started building in March 2021 and I got it delivered August or September 2021. Never had a bit of problem and it is driven almost every day

Ours is 2021 KR PB Build date 10/2021., bought April 2025 with 33k, good Carfax maintenance record. No major issues, but within the last two months, it has not shifted out of Park three times and now throws a message on the dash center display "Please turn ignition off or start engine". And when you start it after that message goes away, it takes several seconds to load the screen, longer to load the Nav map. We're putting it into the shop on Thursday for the Rear Camera software recall, and will replace both the engine battery and Auxiliary battery.

2021 with 100,000 miles.
No battery tender
No fan speed anything
Sits for 3 months at a time
I have done NOTHING different with this truck than any other vehicle I have ever owned. I drive it like a truck. It gets hooked to trailers and used as a generator as well as running my everyday life.
I do not have a typical 9-5 commute.

Original battery.

DEFINITELY a PB thing. There's been a TON of discussion about it on the PB forum.
