There are threads which cover this in detail, but basically the original charging output was lower with fan speeds below 5. The max state of charge was 80% so it wasn't very forgiving of letting the truck sit. I think Ford may have changed this with a software update, but for me, old habits die...
Sorry for beating the dead horse, but I've been watching the battery threads for a couple of years now and I've been using a BatteryMINDER Plus periodically to top off my battery. I also run my AC/Heater fan speed at 5 or higher on occasion. My truck is now fully 4 years old. It sits in the...
I agree wholeheartedly, mine has the tow technology package which limits the towing to 7K. My trailer is slightly under that weight and the truck never breaks a sweat. I'm not planning on towing 10K lbs, but I'm confident it could do it and do it well.
One of the first things I read on a PB FB page was to push every fuse until fully seated. I found a few that I was able to push in, but never thought much about it. Maybe that's a good idea to check all the fuses>
I tow a Lance 1685, similar to the OP but a bit lighter at 6K gross with 500 lbs of people/payload in the truck. I tow mostly in SW Missouri and NW/Central Arkansas through the Ozark "Mountains". These don't have significant elevation, but long hills are common. I use 92 octane and tow mode...
We have a 3 car garage but utilize the 2 car side for our vehicles. It's 25' deep and 26' wide. I pull my truck in forward, a bit to the right and then back straight. My wife backs her 2017 Honda CRV in with the rear towards the outside wall. She can open doors fully on both sides and I can open...
When I was looking for mine I looked at trucks with sunroofs and thought "that's a 'neat' feature", why not? We've had sunroofs in two cars (Toyota and Honda) which we collectively owned for 17+ years. The shades were opened <6 times total on both and the roofs opened two or maybe three times...
@Kodiak Thanks for the write up and details. One of the main reasons I wanted a newer truck was for additional safety features. I've enjoyed BLIS and ACC in my wife's Honda CRV for 7 years now and always missed them when driving my 2014 F150. I just got my newer truck a few weeks ago and was...
I installed an Amp Research 'knock off' step that I bought on eBay. The seller negotiated a best offer and it cost me $100.06 with shipping. I had been looking at these on Amazon for around $150 and read lots of reviews. There are some negative reviews with one particular problem with the step...
I bought this one three weeks ago. There are a few KR's with painted bumpers and I'm guessing even fewer Lariats? I came from a 2014 Oxford White EB so I'm still getting used to all the bling and the power/MPG of the PB. The two tone is what caught my attention, it's a blast to drive.
