I took delivery of my 2025 502A PB Oct 31 and took our Imagine 2600RB on a quick one-night trip to try it all out.

The camper is about 7000 lbs loaded. I installed some RAS helper springs on the truck, and I could feel the rear end being more planted. I tried decreasing the tension one notch on the Equalizer 2 WDH arms, but that led to a little porpoising and a light front end, so I moved them back to their original position and everything felt solid. Truck towed like a champ, big improvement over my 2012 Ecoboost.

We tried out generator mode on the truck for a while just to make sure it worked. It will be great when we’re dry camping. Figured out how to turn off the welcome lights while in the campground. My only complaint it the truck is a little louder than I’d like, similar to one of the quiet generators. If there’s any suggestions on reducing the idle noise level, I’d be interested.

Overall it was a good trip, and the PB is going to be a nice tow vehicle.

Best of luck with it! I find my 2022 502A PB to be quiet as a church mouse. Even though I run my home off of it I may not put it under any great load so maybe that is why it is quiet.

Forgot to mention that I ordered the trailer camera and TPMS with the truck. Got everything installed and calibrated with the backup assist system. Being able to see behind the camper is great. The self-driving feature to put the towing ball under the hitch is cool and actually helpful.

I would be REAL cautious about pulling a heavy trailer until your rear diff gets broken in and the gears are set. Check your owners manual... IIRC its 1000 miles

2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
I doubt the load matters re PPOB engine noise. The ICE is recharging the battery, not necessarily suppling the load and unless you're above the shut off threshold (which I don't recall at the moment) ... To run my camper's aircon, is about 2 mins. on, 12 mins. off.

I don't know if it is the rear diff or not but 1000 miles, was the break in recommendation for mine.

Its in the owner's manual somewhere.

For noise try turning Eco-idle off. On for charging battery faster takes idle up to ~1300 RPM. Off will run longer to charge but at only ~800 RPM. Should be quieter w/o.

I will take a look at the eco-idle setting, thanks.

As far as break-in goes, I pretty much met the 1000 mile recommendation on my trip home from Iowa! That’s one advantage to an out-of-state purchase.

But remember, those quiet generators run constantly, your truck runs a very efficient duty cycle where it is off more than it is on unless you are really drawing a lot of current.

Nice trailer and I'm glad the truck performed well!

I'm considering a similar trailer.

Did you drive through any significant wind and if so how did that feel?

We didn’t experience any significant winds on this trip, so I can’t comment specifically. But overall everything felt solid and pretty well planted. My comparison is to my 2012 steel body F150 which has a GVWR of 7700 lbs but with similar payload rating. I can feel the extra hp and torque of the PB but otherwise they fill similar.

How did you get your tow mirrors without the v8 motor and did you get the max tow package?

Tow mirrors were an available option on the PB. The combo of mirrors and the long bed were drivers in my decision to order instead of searching for a built truck on the lot. Plus I got to somewhat optimize my 502A payload. I picked one “heavy” option, which was the bed utility package. I did not order max tow.

Boy that is definitely a you opinion. I've boondocked a bunch with my truck and even with it still hooked to the trailer I think it's super quiet (my opinion). Like someone else said, turn off the eco-idle. Normal PPoB idle is 1000rpm on my truck (compared to 1300 for the eco idle).

Glad you're getting some use out of it. Were you able to use your AC and/or microwave when using PPoB?
