If Ford called you tomorrow asking for one design change… what are you telling them

That is insane!! How many vehicle regardless of which MFG sell rides that do that. "characteristic" so they are saying it is designed to do that?! Is it also designed for the tranny to lock up at 75 mph?
My 19 lariat did this as well as my 25. These things just aren’t smooth. My 98 xlt screw had less vibrations. Granted it was a lot harsher over bumps and much looser steering.

Can’t do just one.
change the rotary switches for lights and drive mode to actual switches with stops. All the way counterclockwise to stop is position A, clockwise to first detent is B, next detent is C, stop is D. You don’t have the distraction of looking at the screen to see what’s been selected as with the current system, you know by the switch position you felt with your hand.

make the adaptive cruise work predictably. Mine finds false speed limits, no sign needed, interprets route number signs as speed limits and brakes aggressively. Or be able to turn that function off and keep the following distance function functional.

offer some options as stand alone items instead of only available in packages that may contain items I don’t want. I would have liked to option just leather seats in my Lariat but wasn’t interested in paying for the 5,000 dollar package that included things of little value to me.

ditch the rain sensing wipers. They were erratic on my ‘23 Kona and act the same on my ‘25 F150. Slow to react when rain starts, slow to turn off when it stops, slow and inappropriate to changes in rain fall rate. My ‘25 Kona doesn’t have them and not missed one iota.

as said before some old technology cannot be improved upon.

I went with the max tow package, bought 6/16/2015, 10K on the truck, 8K towing, 5/32s tread depth left on the rear tires And one flat from a bitty Little Rock chip. 4 payments and getting close to needing tires. A more durable tire fitment on a vehicle specifically optioned for hard work would be appreciated.

Keeping it realistic

Two things that have already been mentioned
Physical brake hold button.
High trim levels in a RCSB, I know they don't sell but I would love one.

Not mentioned is the interior door handles. Its a terrible design that relies on finger strength to open the doors. My granddaughters really struggle with them and I can imagine that anyone with weak hands would have an issue with them.

This is a bit general, but I would say actively support 3rd party repair and modifications. The main example that comes to mind is the encrypted can bus which makes a LOT of things a pain in the ass.

be able to change the default backup camera view, I like having 360 cameras but id rather have a full screen of what's behind me than half and always having to press buttons

Offer a manual transmission option.

More options/trim levels for the regular cab.

Let’s pretend you’re sitting in Dearborn with the design team what’s your pitch?
For me, it’d be factory-level support for custom drive modes. Would love to fine-tune throttle and steering feel myself.
So what’s your idea? Doesn’t have to be realistic — just something that would make your truck perfect for you

Maybe a DEPENDABLE 10-speed transmission that will last 150k miles without having to be replaced every 25k or so miles. OR… include a ‘transmission warranty’ that’ll cover replacement up to 100k miles. Ford… you know how terrible these transmissions are, and the number of owners that have had to replace them with low mileage (mine had to be replaced at 40k miles 😠)! You should have done a recall on these.

1- 7.2 Pro Power Onboard, without the requirement of the Hybrid drivetrain. Give me a 5-10 kWh battery, and a belt driven generator without the complexity of the hybrid drivetrain. I don't care about saving 1 MPG with the electric drive garbage

2- Plug in hybrid option

3- A Raptor with the Coyote Engine option.

4- Tremor trim with 7.2 PPOB

5- 8HP75 ZF 8 Speed. (8HP90 in the Raptor R)

6- paddle shifters on all trims

7- A quality feeling shifter, instead of the Temu folding shifter

8- Alternative color options for the interior

9- Recaro seats as a stand alone option

10- Premium lighting on all trims. Why can I buy a $25k Kia with LED headlights/tail lights, but I have to spend 80k or more to get Fords best on an F150

11- A wireless charger that doesn't suck

12- Ventilated and heated rear seats. RAM does it, why can't Ford

13- Flex Fuel on all engine options

I think it would be swell if the standard side view mirrors were a little bigger to offer a better view while towing an RV. I personally do not want Super Duty mirrors on my half ton but a little bigger than the current standard size.
