I got the dreaded High Voltage warning and to stop safely messages on a recent road trip and the dealership says it's going to be $5k to fix. The truck is a 2022 and has 54k miles on it, I'm pretty surprised it's not under warranty.

Here's the breakdown:
- Drop gas tank, possibly main battery fuse is blown.
- Remove High Voltage Battery.
- Inspect and replace wiring harness up to the battery.

All for $5,022.09.

Has anyone else had a similar experience or advise? I'm a business and this a part of our fleet so I was hoping for some goodwill but it doesn't sound like that is going to happen.

Why isn't that under warranty? You past the 3 years or did animals chew on wiring?

36k mile warranty and one month out of the 3 year side of it. No external damage anywhere.

That's tough...I'd ask on this board if there are any technical service bulletins about this issue. I'd run it up up through the regiional service advisors too. Seems like it is more a time than mileage issue, being you are only 1 month out of warranty. Sorry this happened to you.

Isn't the hybrid system covered until 100k?

I was gonna say, my understanding is anything hybrid specific is covered longer.

I’d personally push this one a bit. If the wiring is for the hybrid system then to me that’s covered.

There is a TSB for this stop safely now also. Could try applying that first?

Had the same issue. They took care of mine for free but it took months of fighting. They eventually put an ESP on my truck then coveted it with that and ate the deductible. My truck was in the shop almost 9 months while they tried to figure it out (did have a free loaner the whole time). Maybe my issue helped yours get diagnosed and resolved a little quicker

How many miles were on yours?

Given the age and mileage of the truck I would bet a connector issue. Are you in a humid part of the country?

I made it to 83K miles before the transmission went on the fritz - some sort of sensor that interfaced with the generator. After 3 repair attempts they settled on a whole new transmission. About 30 days in a loaner, not fun (although covered under warranty). I traded the PB for a non-PB and have been trouble free since - I only responded because I feel if you don't need the PB functionality or don't use it but maybe once a year or so ... don't get it. Too much complexity and way too expensive to repair.
