Had to replace just TWO tires due to an accident. The OTHER two tires have about 15K on them.

Is there a preferable place to put the two NEW tires on the truck, front or rear? Wondering if it makes a difference due to the battery weight maybe?

When two tires are replaced on ANY VEHICLE, they should be on the rear axle.

It’s safety - not weight, that is the issue.

An oversteer condition may be set up when there is greater adhesion in the tire’s contact patch if mounted on the front axle.

Reputable tire dealers will not mount two new tires on the front axle.

Not sure I agree with the "any vehicle" statement but yes on rear wheel drive bias vehicles I would normally mount new tires on the rear.

You’re right, the rule does not apply to a dually.

Radial or bias-ply construction, it doesn’t matter.

I think the term "bias" in this case is the rear-wheel vs front-wheel power emphasis, not the construction of the tire.

For RWD/4WD F-150, the power bias is rear, so new tires go on the rear.

Something with FWD will get new it's tires on the front.

Yes this is what I was saying. There are AWD that are bias to the rear wheels. Such as Mercedes S550 4matic and Infiniti g35x to name a couple. But anything front wheel bias would normally get the new tires on the front.

Nope still want the new tires on the rear for safety reasons. Worn tires have less resistance to hydroplaning. If you have more worn tires on the rear they will hydroplane before the front causing a vehicle to be more likely to spin.

Around here, you'd be hard pressed to find a tire shop that will put two new tires on the front end of a FWD vehicle. A little comp braking on those two tires with worn tires on the back will turn an FWD around in a hurry. Always fun to see a FWD backed into a snowbank. Certianly less of an issue with all the E-nanny's nowadays and warm climates, but old habits - especially when liability might attach - die hard.

If your driving around with tires that worn to be that different front to rear you need 4 new anyways. Fix it right or don't bother fixing it at all. Worn a bit more is still fine to put where ever you want. If they are worn to the point they will hydroplane slow down cuz your dumb or replace all 4

Correct, I accidently Got got spike belted by the Edmonton Police a year ago next month, I Police chase was coming up behind me, they intended to spike the bad guy and got me instead, they took out 2 tires. Well guess what, I got towed to Fountain Tire and all they had was Cooper winter tires, they mounted them on the front, there was 50% more tread depth than the rear, I drove 200 km home and the next day a new noise in the drive train started, a week went by and I bought 4 new tires. I took the truck to Ford, my transfer case was shot. So I had to buy a total of 6 tires, 1 rim and a transfer case from being wrongfully spike belted im out almost $5,000.00 that's not including the files I lost from work or my time. I now have a Lawsuit on Edmonton Police Service and Fountain Tire they want to settle for pennies on the dollar, I naturally want to go right to trial.

Replace all 4 tires or you might regret it.

This is your answer right here.

You must also be mindful of wear differences and 4x4. 15,000 miles on a set of tires and you may need to replace all 4 together.

I guess I don't understand how size tires negatively impact a transfer case that isn't engaged?

I learned, 2023 F-150 doesn't have IWE the hard way.

My 2023 has IWE :D

I think it is on the push-button 4x4 trucks only. XL and XLT? If you have the full-time 4A transfer case, I believe the IWEs were eliminated.
