In my truck, it’s blank.
@rugedraw looked up for me the other day and confirmed it was 20301.
Rebooting the GWM, didn’t try that. I plan on hooking everything back up tonight as soon as kids go to bed.
Thank you for the recommendation!!
I hope you're patient. Make the USB stick with the apim update and plug it in. Then leave it plugged in until it says updating, or update complete. That could be up to a month... But as far as I know, it's always worked.

Maybe I jumped the gun with the 30 day purchase…

That being said, FDRS asked me if the update completed. By the time it seems this takes off, that screen will likely be gone. Does it matter?

Can I just reconnect and check for updates again? Also, should I be doing a network scan or doing it from the cloud then connecting the truck?

thanks again for all of your help!

Just leave the USB in there are forget about it. When you least expect it, the update will kick off and install. You will then have several GWM, APIM and TCU updates to do until you're up to date. Possibly another IPC update, too. Just circle back here when the APIM kicks off and we will walk you through the rest of the process. Hopefully it takes less than 30 days so you can use the same license to do the rest of the updates.

Does the engine need to be on?
For example, would it be any use/cause any harm to leave it in Ignition on, engine off overnight?

Obviously attached to the external power supply.

I understand the need to be patient. It’s also hard.

If the engine is running, no need for the power supply. It's you gas. You can try, but not sure if that'll help the process go by any faster.

Sorry, maybe it wasn’t clear. I meant if the engine wasn’t running. If I had the kind of money to afford wasting gas like that, I’d just buy a new truck lol.
But if you don’t see an upside, I’ll leave it alone and just wait for the blessing of the ford gods!

Oh I getcha. You can try. You'd be the first to try that method, so if you want to try and carve a new path, go for it. You'll need to turn the 30 minute idle timer off to prevent the truck from turning off on it's own.

Not the worst idea I've heard. Just leave it in "key on engine off" to hopefully get it to kick off. Worth a shot for the night. Just remember to turn the wipers and headlights off. And shut the doors and hood. Roll a window down just in case.

I’m willing to try most things in the name of science. I don’t see any real issues. I’ll report back in the morning!

Well… so much for my big and bold ideas. Nothing happened. Checked this morning, more of the same.

Oh well. I appreciate all of your encouragement. I’ll report back once it’s finally done and go from there!

Been working on updates most of the day. Got to the IPC and got the usb error 0. Does anyone know the resolution to this?
IMG_3228.jpeg
I got this same error today. I updated the GWM using the same USB. But when I tried to update the apim I'm getting that error. I've tried reformatting the USB and using a different USB and I keep getting that error. I've used that same USB to bring my truck back from the world of the unknown... lol this is the first time I've had an issue with it.

I'm 43% into a 2.5 hour CAN update right now for another member's truck. You're not alone in the struggle. ?
I don't recall seeing how to do the update via CAN, Or the option in FDRS....Mind telling me how to update via CAN for my apim? Thanks.

APIM cannot be updated with CAN. If I remember correctly, USB error 0 is that there is not enough space for the update. If FDRS is giving you the option to remove voice files before making the update, do that and try again.

I have seen people talk about a PCM update released in March 25, anyone know when it was exactly released and what trucks? Reason I ask is I updated all modules in Mid February and wondering if I got lucky and got the newest PCM update or if I need to once again update the PCM.

Try rebooting the GWM module with FDRS or FORScan.

What Sync version is your truck on right now? It is a 5 digit number that starts with a 2.
I know that I'm supposed to be patient, but that isn't something that I'm known for.

Has anyone tried this method? I saw the TSB online, looks fairly straightforward and I actually already have all the required cables.

I might give it a try later today if I have some free time.
