That would make sense. I've read others having issues with the pinion bearing as well, and as you said it comes and goes under different throttle loads, under very light throttle you wont hear anything but with a little more throttle it makes noise like crazy and if you really get on it even...
Interesting. I would think that the front differential would be stationary when the truck is in 2wd. Does anyone have any idea how these transfer cases work? The truck has 4A and I know I've seen something about some clutch packs or something internally.
Hey guys,
Wanted to get some opinions on the issues I am having with my 22 Tremor. I have been having the dreaded humming/grinding noise coming from the front end for a few months now since my last off road trip. The noise comes and goes intermittently and does change based on 2wd/4wd selection...
Interesting. I can understand it being fluid viscosity/temp related. I have a hard time believing brand new trucks on the lot do it. Makes me wonder if Ford redesigned something to fix the issue, or if it's just another quirk.
It would definitely be interesting to see if that would help. I know others have said the FP tune makes a big difference. I'd love to try it out, but I am not sure how it would affect the extended warranty. I've got a 3/36 Ford plan, and I know the FP tune comes with 3/36 as well, from what I've...
Hey guys,
I know the 10r80 pops up all over these forums. I am looking for some guidance/insight on my 22 Tremor.
The truck gets driven daily and every morning when first taking off, the truck shifts very firm from 1-3, the colder the temp, the worst the shift. Once the first 1-3 shift...
I have seen people talk about a PCM update released in March 25, anyone know when it was exactly released and what trucks? Reason I ask is I updated all modules in Mid February and wondering if I got lucky and got the newest PCM update or if I need to once again update the PCM.
Is there any way to see what current IPC version you are on? I am just wondering if my current version will be one that can be done via the USB. That will let me know if I need an extra 6 hours. ?
Ok sweet. So since I don't have the GWM or APIM, I would just start at TCU, then IPC. The rest can just be at random? Also I am assuming each update gets downloaded and installed on its own, is there any kind of download all button or just do each individually?
Thanks
Hey Guys,
Thanks to @rugedraw I now know what updates my 22 Tremor needs. I have my Mongoose coming tomorrow and have already read a few threads on getting started. One thing I have been seeing is how some updates should be done before others. Which updates should I complete first?
Thanks
Tuning has crossed my mind on many occasion, simply for the trans tuning. I don't really need the extra power, the 3.5 is already punchy enough especially with the 3.73 rear gears. At this point it seems like I need to see if there are any updates for the PCM, then go through the AL again. Looks...
Yea I read about him doing that. I have a feeling the adaptive tables being off is what is messing mine up. I know when I first reset the tables and completed the initial learning drive per the shop manual everything seemed to be pretty smooth, then over time it just started to get out of wack...
I had the pan dropped and filter changed about 700 miles ago. Have you had any TCM updates performed on your truck? I know some were saying that helped a lot, especially on the power boost trucks. I know the 10r80 is different in those trucks, but it makes me wonder how many updates the truck...
Got home from work and decided to turn off the adaptive learning, on initial test drive the truck seemed more predictable, acceleration was about the same in terms of firmness, downshift were about the same as well, you can still feel a slight pulse each time the truck downshifts. I will run...
I have seen others talk a lot about disabling. Does it really do anything in terms of transmission life? I want the truck to last a long time, but at the same time I want it to shift smoothly. I just dislike how sometimes the trans shifts buttery smooth up and down from one stop light, to the...
Hey guys,
First time poster here on the forums. I recently purchased a used 2022 F150 Tremor 3.5, overall love the truck and have already changed some stuff in Forscan,(thanks to the many threads), and completed the infamous adaptive tables reset. The transmission seems better overall but still...
