If leveling is so great, why doesn't Ford do it?

Ford spends millions designing and testing their trucks for the best performance, efficiency, and reliability. If having a level stance aided in these area’s they would obviously build them that way. Leveling a truck adversely affects it in the aforementioned areas. Oh, and some people think it looks good. Thanks for your thoughts.

Because it’s not for everyone. If you are regularly carrying heavy loads in your bed or on a trailer (aka doing truck things) you most likely wouldn’t want to level it.

Mainly for fuel economy, and most people dont care. Rake front ends plus active air dams all adds up. Same reason they come with basically street tires and not all terrains.

99% of the “leveled” trucks that I see the front looks higher than the rear. 90% of their headlights are bouncing off the moon because apparently people don’t know how or care to adjust their headlights.

Leveling makes the truck worse in a few ways. There really is no practical benefit. I leveled my truck because I much prefer the look and wanted to fit bigger tires which also aren't really necessary. Side note; I found it easier to adjust my headlights with a small (8mm I think?) socket and 1/4" drive ratchet than by using the phillips screwdriver method I found a couple places online. #3 wouldn't fit in the hole and #2 didn't seem to fully engage with the teeth in the mechanism.

So, are we safe to assume you've never changed anything on any truck you've ever bought? Tire size, wheels, tinted windows, window vents, radios, steering wheel covers, floor mats, nothing?

Because if you have, you're talking out of your ass and are a complete hypocrite.

I took the blocks out of mine for looks, but also to make the bed far more accessible. I'm never going to tow anything, ever, so the blocks were just a pain in my ass.

The bed access is my favorite part of this method, reaching over the side of a truck bed has gotten a whole lot more difficult in the last 30 years. In my opinion the amount of rake the 122" wheelbase trucks come with make them look ridiculous.

I'm about 6ft tall. The tailgate of my truck should not hit me above my waist.

Rake is better for a truck, when you put a load on the suspension you are level and not pointed up. Ford doesn’t care about buyers who lower trucks etc, they aren’t Fords target market as they don’t use a truck for their intended purpose.

I do think Ford could do better with spring rate options. A few of the more extreme examples of rake I've seen are on F150's with 3-4.5". Some of their competitors have pretty decent ride quality and payload management with only 2-2.5" of rake on an unloaded truck. Every inch added to bedside and tailgate height does make it more difficult to load, secure cargo and work out of.

Then just because that’s your opinion that doesn’t mean it’s right.

I could care less where the tailgate hits me. It’s truck for work. It’s not a station wagon with a tailgate a foot above the ground. It’s a truck that’s what trucks have if it’s too high for you to get a damn stepstool.
