Hi all!
I am close to placing an order, and going forth and back on the mobile office package. All I really want from it is the charger, but it seems like an expensive charger for $550.
Is there a good aftermarket solution, or can the OEM charger be added by itself after the fact?
What have you guys come up with?

Thanks!

I use the 3d printed MagSafe mount that someone on here pointed me towards. Plugs into the USB-C port in the covered area just behind it and seems to work well.

TBH, with a case on my phone (though I haven't tried without), the wireless charging isn't that great. If you can get to connect and stay connected, it works pretty well. But it has a tendency to disconnect and require you to move around on the pad a little to find the right spot. Has no magnets.

Do you happen to have a link or more info on the 3d printed mount? How does it look with the phone, is it magnetic?

Yes, the phone and the white puck are both magnetic. They use Apple's MagSafe standard.

I just used a little superglue to get the MagSafe puck to attach to the 3D print and to attach the 2 parts of the 3D print together.

Found the link to original thread:

Photo with a phone on it will have to wait since the one in my picture was snapped in half by someone being clutzy... There should be some photos with phones in the other thread.

Honestly I just bought a Anker wireless charging pad and placed it in that cubby, powered by the USB A port right there. Charges my phone slowly when using Android Auto but doesn't make the phone hot like the OEM one did. Cost me $12

I've got this offroam x peak setup and love it. I was going to go for a pad as well but I couldn't get behind not seeing the turn-by-turn in front of me. Map is on large display, turn-by-turn on phone right there. It has yet to get in my way or fail me.

Have this one coming tomorrow and can’t wait to start using it. I use my work surface so something semi permanent that doesn’t allow the shifter to go down wasn’t an option.

I’ll be using the new 25W MagSafe charger connected to the outlet to the right via a short extension cord with everything closed neatly in the bin for the fastest possible charging speed that I can’t get from the usb ports in the bin

The OEM charger will cook the battery and hardly ever work. Avoid.

I never use the factory wireless charger, it’s in such a bad spot. Probably going to order the 3d printed mag charger setup.
