I run Shell 93 and put a bottle of techron fuel system cleaner through it every oil change and mine will still idle rough. It also doesn't do it all the time. I don't have misfires according to mode 6.

The high idle on the 5.0 definitely last to long when it is cold out. Even after the truck is fully warmed up sometimes when I restart the truck the high idle will last a couple of minutes. Makes no sense because other times it is normal idle.

So the inconsistency of the rough idle has had me scratching my head. However, now I'm starting to think it's related to the humidity. Im not showing any misfires though, which makes me think its probably not ignition related. What else would humidity affect that could cause a rough idle?

Just an update,

Ford has looked at the truck and said they can’t do anything about it unless it throws a code / CEL.

Sounds like I’m stuck dealing with this weird rough idle issue…

I'd put an eye on the engine mounts and make sure they are bolted up correctly.

Then just try to make sure no hoses or vacuum lines are disconnected or look weird.

Since it is a new truck and no CELs, I'd look for an assembly error.

That’s actually quite a smart idea checking for assembly issues.. I will do some looking around.

Thanks

Picked up a 2024 XLT October 2024 - right from the very next day after I bought it, I noticed a vibration at idle. It’s a very consistent tempo - if the dots were vibrations it would look something like … 1 2 3 … 1 2 3 … 1 2 3 … (approx 3 seconds between vibrations consistently)

I have a mag safe phone mount and I can notice the vibration in my phone screen when secured to the mount, the reflection when the screen is off shakes and distorts the in line with the vibration

My wife mentioned she could feel a slight vibration in her feet while we were parked waiting for a train to clear the road - I had never mentioned this issue to her!

Booked the truck in with the Ford Dealership and after watching my truck not move all day on the FordPass app, they called and said they couldn’t replicate the issue and did not find anything wrong.

Hoping someone can shed some light on this issue, thanks in advance
Well I have a 24 5.0 and at idle I cant tell if its running its so smooth. Might be something run off the belt or a bad serpentine belt maybe

ive noticed my rough "idle" is not just idle. I can rev it in park, and get some roughness around 1200-1500 rpm as well. Been tracking PID's with forscan and don't have any misfire/vacuum/VCT issues or anything else that would explain it. I had noticed a vibration throughout the truck at almost any speed when cruising around, and I think this must be the cause. I can't see the dealer doing anything about it unless I can point them to what the issue is, so I'm still trying to figure out what's going on.

I have noticed this on my 2024 5.0 as well I just bought last week.

Until/if it throws an engine light I'm ignoring it. My '04 F150 5.4 and '07 Mustang GT both do that at idle at times. Been that way for years even after clean coil on plugs with new boots/springs and plug changes, and MAF/TB cleanings. I guess I'm used to that sort of thing so feels like business as usual.

I think my 24' 5.0 with 1700mi on it idles like shit lol, I can feel it nice and smooth at times, then I can feel what feels like small light single cyl misfires mixed in with some shimmys and whatever else at times. I use very good gas so its not that.

Yeah the inconsistency is

Cylinder deactivation doesn't kick in at idle.
Curious if anyone knows why CD doesn't kick in at idle? especially once the engine is warmed up it seems like that would be a prime time to do it.
