Climate control turns on. Heated seat and steering wheel do not activate until I press the start button inside the truck. I am open to the possibility that I missed other settings.

A warm seat and a warm steering wheel - that's all I ask. Not unreasonable for the price paid.
Absolutely agree! Especially when they DID work BEFORE the damn update killed them.
And for those of us with the battery saver mode gremlin, the app is all but useless most of the time. But I have always been able to remote start with the fob. And now the heated seats and wheel do not turn on with the fob remote start anymore.

Yup, familiar. I have everything on Auto - climate, seats, steering wheel. Are you suggesting that the climate has to be "last setting" in order for Auto seat/wheel to work? Seems odd, but not discounting the possibility.

My 21 works that way. Remote started this AM and heated seats and wheel were still running from previous night.

Confirming that I tried both of these remote settings today:
climate/seat/wheel = (auto/auto/auto) and (last setting/auto/auto).

Not sure what other variables to consider. Climate control fan is Auto (this part actually works during remote start). Heated seats are set to Auto. Open to any insights on the magical formula.

When I head home, I may try starting with the remote for grins. Maybe I will stop by the dealership to make a warranty claim - truck does not operate as stated in the manual. Let them figure it out.

I tried changing the settings, turning off the truck, restarting the truck then putting my settings back on last settings used/auto/auto. No bueno. They still won’t work if I remote start the truck using the fob. Before the damn update, they ALWAYS worked. It absolutely freaking sucks that they don’t now, since I use the fob to remote start the truck most of the time. Having warm leather seats and leather steering wheel was so nice on subzero mornings.

90% of the time remote starting the truck using the app doesn’t work, since my truck absolutely loves being in “battery saver mode” most of the time. So when those climate controls eventually show up on the app, they will be useless to me.

Got a TCU (Telematics) update overnight. Battery state of charge reported 60% when I parked last night and 74% when I started the truck this morning. This - and your battery saver comment - got my brain turning a bit. I don't entirely understand the load shed charts, but they at least show these features as some of the first to quit working. I used the remote this morning but will try the app again at lunchtime.

A whole lot of first world problems here...
My man, you came to a thread about a feature in a smart phone app used to start a truck and leave a low effort dig? Every thread on an internet forum for American full size trucks is first world problems.

I'd suspected this was coming when our damn auto climate/seats on remote start broke.

I want the old remote start back for the truck. There's no buttons on my fob for climate.
Because of the weather, I used the remote start on the fob yesterday and was surprised to find the auto HVAC and seat heater, not on.

Tested it on the Wife's new Bronco Sport. Same.

They both retain the previous settings once started with the button but if they don't work with remote start, whats the point?

Using the phrase low effort in a thread of folks complaining about how long and how many times the remote start works is very funny.

I will say, that is the most annoying piece/part of the truck & app. The dumb part of the APP disabling any remote features is def. an oddball, but I will classify it as a BUG or something being misreported. I'm saying this because it will allow my FOB to start remotely when the APP disables that option, so what's the issue FORD? :p

This makes a bit of sense in shedding the light (no pun) on his issue, so maybe his battery is on its way out.

Confirming that the climate controls magically appear in the app with a higher reported battery state of charge. First world crisis averted!

Is there a way I can tell how charged my battery is from either the app or within the truck?

And to add, we paid a large premium for these trucks, that have features we wanted and were willing to pay for, only to have some random update essentially stop said features from working as before the update.

First world problems still suck when we paid for them, and they quit working.
