Yep, I just run Chevron / Texaco gas with Techron, don't mess with the bottled additive. (y)
Yeah I mean Techron is the one I’ve seen in car manuals. It’s usually written like this..Don’t use additives, but if you have to, run our brand or Techron.

I've been driving since 1972. I've used the least expensive, non-branded gasoline I could locate. In the wintertime I use the Heet gas drier to prevent gasline freezeup. Across many hundreds of thousands of miles my engines run just fine. One a Suburban that ran for 30 years.

Techron at 1oz to 10g is what chevron pump fuel has in it. Haven't seen anything definitive to say that 1oz/1gal is any more or less effective than 1oz/10g across the same fuel usage interval. Shell is the only premium supplier currently claiming their new additive pack reduces cylinder friction.

I run Archoil products in my little diesel to help with lubricity for the CP4 injection pump.

We do a lot of short trips with our vehicles and so I like at 30K miles to put injector cleaner in the gas tank. A small amount of deposits can affect the spray from the injectors and this can impact fuel usage.

With my diesel truck I would add a Cetane Booster to compensate for U.S. diesel when I was planning on towing a heavy load.

Federal minimum requirements for cetane are enough for any modern diesel engine. The ONLY additive that is useful is anti-gel (anti-freeze) for the fuel.

This might be true but archoil products are legit. My last truck had the 6.7 Cummins and many trucks suffered from to frequent regens. Multiple members on the RAM forumd ran the archoil products and it drastically reduced the number of regens. There are more benefits to diesel fuel additives outside of cetane boosts. For gasoline engines I really don't think additives do much but we are free to do whatever we want.
