Keeping hybrid running at idle.

I have a need to keep my ice running at an idle for a test procedure. It keeps shutting off like normal. I know i can press the gas peddle but I can't keep it a idle. Lowest is 1200rpm with gas peddle. I turn on heat, fan on high, lights on. I try to load system up so engine comes on but it still shuts off after a short time. I need to have it idle for a couple minutes.

I think if you put it in tow mode it will stay idling.

Switch to tow/haul mode. That should keep the ICE on but the hybrid motor will still periodically switch on as well to provide additional power.

I'm assuming this works for both of you? Neither of these work on my job 1 22'.

Tow/Haul works for me to keep the ICE on, but again, it doesn't stop the hybrid motor from turning on as well to provide additional (not exclusive) power.

Gotcha, Mine will do that too.

The OP wants the engine to run while in park.

Put it in sport mode.

Sport mode DOES NOT keep the ice running. But it does keep you out of electric only while the vehicle is in motion.

Tow/haul only keeps engine on only in gear. sport mode keeps engine on in gear and brake pedal not depressed.

putting it in 4 lo will keep the engine on in park.

I tried both the sport mode and tow mode. Still shuts off.
I then tried the gas, brake, let off the gas trick. I got it to work once. There is specific timing routeins that have to done. The last part of the sequence is letting off the gas while still holding the brakes then starting the truck then jaming the grass full on for like 10 seconds. It's nerve racking. It would seem that your going to rev the engine. In all reality the rpm maxes out at 3500.
It took 4 tries to get it then I couldn't do it again.
It would be nice and eager if there was a bit in forscan to change like turning off auto stop.

Its frustrating. I'm trying to calibrate my 360 degree cameras and calibrate my back up camera. Both require that I start the truck. Keep it at an idle for 40 seconds.
Normaly if everything is charged up the ice will shut off within 40 seconds. Trying to tip the gas to keep it running does not work because it's always above idle. Then the second I lighten up it shuts off. If that happens during the 40 seconds that the app is trying to normalize i have to start over.

Not sure about park but I idle mine all the time in neutral after towing. With vehicle on take the following steps:
1 Tow haul mode
2 transmission in neutral
3 apply parking brake
4 put transmission in manual mode
That’s it. You have 30 minutes where vehicle will idle, in neutral and you can get in/out and do what you need and vehicle will not go into park and shut off. Using the manual button is the key to being able to defeat the shift to park as you open the door.
