At any point has anyone offered to reimburse you for payments made on the truck while it's unavailable to you?

Ford told me that I could submit a request after I get it back. I’m paying for the rental car and the truck. Who knows when I’ll get paid back for the rental car.

I contacted my Ford rep last week about the process to get reimbursed for the rental after I get my truck back and she finally responded to my email yesterday. When we last spoke she told me that she’d open a case and submit my receipt for reimbursement, but now she’s telling me that I have to go through Granger to get reimbursed. I tried to call, but after being on hold for 10 minutes, the automated system stated that all reps were busy and hung up on me. I sent another email, but haven’t received a response.

Tomorrow will be 8 weeks since I dropped the truck off at the body shop. I’m not sure when it’s going to be done. This has been the worst vehicle buying experience I’ve ever had. The Ford customer service rep is supposed to call me tomorrow sometime.

No progress. I was at the body shop today and the truck is still sitting there. My wife bought a new Audi on Dec 31 and someone hit it on Jan 5 with 100 miles on it, so I’ll have two vehicles there…

at least VW gave me a damn rental car while they got my paint issue straight.

I have a rental. I just have to pay for it upfront and get reimbursed somehow. I’m pretty sure that Granger has already been reimbursed for the paint work. I received a survey from Ford to rate my experience with Granger service on 18 December.

Granger is doing the paint work? I thought it was some aftermarket body shop, and one in your area, not Iowa. Did I understand wrong?

No. They’re paying and then getting reimbursed by Ford. It’s at a local body shop.

i guess i should have clarified my statement. VW gave me a rental. i didnt have to pay for anything when it came to that.
i also complained to the dealer that i had the car for a couple weeks before it spent almost 6 weeks in the shop for paint. that i had made 2 payments on a car i had for 2 weeks and they agreed to reimburse me one months car payment.

I paid Hertz $3,900 and drove by the body shop. The owner said that they hope to have it done by the end of the week or early next week. So I’ll be into the rental for over $4,000 by the time the truck is done. I’ve made three payments on the truck while it’s been at the body shop too.

Amazing that ford is just letting you pay out of pocket for all of this. Then you’ll have to battle to get a reimbursement. Hope it all ends well but dang. I would expect some kind of reimbursement on the auto payments too.
