ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Anyone with a Mongoose in upstate NY (Syracuse/Rochester area) that can help @Alexpro with his truck? He has a job 1 2021 stuck on Sync 20301. If someone could plug into his truck to get him the the USB files to update his APIM, I can add him to the list to borrow a Mongoose so he can do the rest of the updates.

Do you happen to have a pic of your screen with the HVAC/Seats/Steering Wheel on it? Curious as to how that looks. My mongoose is supposed to delivered this week, then going to start working on BC 1.4 and some Forscan changes.

Sure, but you'll see a few more things mixed in there. Unless you do all of them, yours will look different:

Enabled the "Unreal" Sync theme (overall appearance is different)

Added climate bar @ bottom of Sync screen (red)
Added heated steering wheel to climate bar (green)
Added heated/cooled seats to climate bar (yellow)
(Android Auto is running in full screen mode below)

Enabled 75th Anniversary splash screen (even though my truck is a 2021)

Here's AA in split screen (two sections, one of left and one in center) with the Ford 'cards' in the right section. You can run in full screen, half and half (either AA split twice or AA on one side and Ford cards on the left) or all three (as pictured):

I'm just grateful that they had the courage to roll this stuff out to the mighty F150 first. That took cajones. (or naivety?) ?

I actually think it was somewhat the opposite based on my own observations. It seems like they use the F150 as their beta testbed before rolling out to the Super Duty. The F150 always gets the new stuff 2-3 years before they introduce it to the SD. My guess is they want to work out all of the bugs before introducing it to vehicles that folks rely on to run businesses. I'm not saying there aren't a LOT of contractors using F150 for business but it's not the same as SD's needing to be workhorses.

PS - Also why I hang out in an F150 forum but own a SD. I'm probably in a severe minority of SD owners that appreciates versus fears tech. If I want to talk about FDRS updates, ForScan, retrofits of tech to non-factory installed gear, etc .... this is the THE place to find it. Most SD forums are quite the opposite. So thanks guys!!

For some reason my truck won’t pull down the latest 24xxx APIM. I’m still on 23297 with my system all up to date. 2021 XLT 5.0l (302a) anyone else have this issue?

For some reason my truck won’t pull down the latest 24xxx APIM. I’m still on 23297 with my system all up to date. 2021 XLT 5.0l (302a) anyone else have this issue?

happened to me too. Got a FDRS license . Installed everything else. Kept checking till it expired. Then of course it was available a few days later

Ya I've had my system all up to date for months as I have a year's license, and I still don't get the latest apim. I'm not sure if it's a 5.0L thing as everyone with a powerboost seems to get the new 24xxx apim.

I don't think it's a 5.0 thing more so its a Ford thing, My 21 J1 received 24127 via. OTA back in September, followed quickly with a TCU update 10.1.1. ?‍

Just joined to. Uh you all with weird one!:

Manual updates via FDRS question:

Went through a lot of modules no problem; did get the ACM but doesn't disappear PSCM also didn't disappear.

1st APIM went great; got a successful update and even saw sync upgrade to rev 415. That prompted TCU on same file. Went through. Next Rescan showed GWM. Did same process but never saw 'successful' message but upon restart did ask me to remove USB

This opened next APIM but now when I hit run I get this message in pic;: "data unavailable" any ideas? I'm obv not fully up to date. Even states I need another APIM to unlock further apims/TCU/GWM but it's stuck. In fact nothing further to update atm.

Did a quick computer restart and disconnect; nothing changed. Let me refresh file once but not run. I'll leave over night and try again in am but curious if anyone has ideas? Wondering if GWM didn't take but it's green? Truck runs fine no issues/warnings.

Same here I did all the updates a while ago but still didn't get the GWM that unlocks the last APIM update.

Sync 23291
GWM ML3T-14H021-PAL
TCU SU5T-14H085-GE

Is it a matter of time or something is wrong?

The ACM and PSCM not disappearing is normal

For the GWM, if the APIM unlocked after trying to update GWM that usually means it's successful

Try to click on the latter icon in the right upper corner and do the FDRS files refresh and try again.

Looks like a restart; re install of FDR's and a needed overnight break for me and the truck did the trick! Thanks!
