took it for a quick 20mile ride at 70mph on the highway... b.cruise was much tighter staying within the lane(no ping-pong) but disconnected in some average curves. Also not sure if I now have 1.4? as I dont have the lane change feature, unless I also have to do something(s) in Forscan too? I've got a 100mile day tomorrow and just trying to get all the settings found/done correctly.

You post is a little confusing, is your BC active?

Lane change assist is for Bluecruise and since you do not have an active BC subscription, that is probably why that option is not displayed or available
We have to remember that Ford updated the IPC software and now hands on lane centering gets the message “BlueCruise Active” in the cluster. Essentially they have branded hands on lane centering as “BlueCruise”and what used to be BlueCruise As “BlueCruise Hands Free”.

Yea, you need to enable it with FORScan. I'll message you.

I did a bunch of FDRS updates this weekend, but I still show ACM, BCM, BCMC, DSP, and PSCM, which show available updates. I know BCM requires credentials and I didn't attempt BCMC, but I updated the others multiple times. I show my Sync version: 24127_PRODUCT Rev: 1270. I'm not sure if I need FORScan or if I need to leave it alone. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Do the BCMC. I would also try the DSP again, but if it continues to linger, ignore it. The ACM and recently the PSCM have been reported to not come off the list after you update it.

Sync 24127 is the latest available for our trucks, so you're good to go there.

Has anyone ever had success with the Ford OTA Expert team? I was hoping they might be able to nudge my dealer to do the updates under warranty. So far, they have refused.

"I definitely want you to get the help that you've requested, Doug! This question will be best handled by Over The Air (OTA) experts, we would recommend reaching out to the Over The Air (OTA) team to confirm. The OTA team is available at 833-389-0848, 8:00 a.m. -11:00 p.m. EST (Monday-Friday) 8:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. EST (Saturday)."

Calling them will be a waste of time.

That's just embarrassingly bad for Ford to have so many updates that don't clear, don't install, etc...

While I would prefer the available updates listing to appropriately render after the update has been delivered successfully to the vehicle, I don't think it's that embarrassing for Ford. FDRS isn't exactly a consumer facing application for the brand. You aren't likely to ever meet another human being that knows the ACM update didn't clear from the list. ?

As for the updates that don't install?
Do you mean the BCM update that requires authorization to install?

That's the only update for an F150 that I have ever seen the second level requirement. I'm sure there is a good explanation for that requiring additional keys to access.

My only complaint with FDRS, after all this time using it, is the undeniable glitchiness of login success. Once you get beyond that, FDRS has a remarkable success rate at accomplishing what it is used for.

Updating the firmware in all your vehicles modules is not, in and of itself, a warrantable item. Unless you've got a great relationship with your dealership and they are willing to pay a technician for 1 to 2 days' worth of his time without them getting paid for it, your only choices are (a) wait for the OTAs to arrive or (b) purchase the hardware and software subscription and do it yourself.

The only way any firmware updates will be covered under warranty is if you are having an issue and the repair process requires them to update the firmware as part of the repair. Even if they do that, the only modules they will update will be those they are getting paid for by Ford (warranty repair) to fix the issue.

No, it's not. Unless a customer pays for the hardware and subscription to do it himself/herself, they have no idea what updates do and don't clear, don't install, etc.

It does the same thing for techs. They know. I lived this world for years (technology for doing over the air updates to devices and systems). Ford’s maturity in this area is years behind the mainstream.

Ford is barely years into this.
There wasn't a symmetrical connection between a Ford consumer vehicle and a Ford data center until one of us purchased a 2021 F150/Mach-E (First vehicles I know of with a GWM and connectivity for Payload delivery)

I'm not saying Ford has exhibited great prowess at it, now that they have jumped in head first. But their strengths over the past 100 years wasn't exactly their DNA in high tech.

I'm just grateful that they had the courage to roll this stuff out to the mighty F150 first. That took cajones. (or naivety?) ?

And I'm grateful that I, as a consumer, even have the opportunity to get access to the tools. (FDRS)

Even with the warts, and I personally consider them minor, FDRS personal use/access is HUGE in the ownership experience of both my Powerboost and Mach-E.

I'm NOT driving the same vehicle as 95% of the other consumers of the same exact vehicles. Nor am I hostage to OTA shortcomings or the inadequacy of a dealership.

FDRS has been a godsend, relatively speaking. And how many other brands have tools like Forscan/FDRS to self support these tech laden products today?
