Keep us posted on how long it takes for the dealership to acquire the battery pack.
It's relatively inexpensive and not a big task to swap out. But the dealership won't likely let a normal tech do the job, and we never know how quickly the parts can be acquired.

Ok, I am stumped on this one and figured I would take a shot here to see if anyone can help me before taking an out of warranty trip to the dealer.

I am getting the "Stop safely now" error and am unable to get my powerboost to start at all. It just goes into accessory mode. I have had this issue in the past and have been able to charge the battery then it would start as expected. This time, no such luck. I have also tried to disconnect both batteries, charged each of them outside the truck and even tried a replacement H7. Nothing has worked. I have tried to search the DTCs I am seeing and haven't come up with anything very useful to try.

Anyone have any suggestions?
This issue is what drove me away from Ford. Ford decided that it was the electric drive unit/motor (educated guess by Ford techs not the dealer). That is a major task that took the dealership a week to accomplish. The truck never shifted correctly after. I wanted out of it and was willing to swap it for a fully equipped Ecoboost King Ranch. Of course, Ford couldn't source chips and build one "fully" equipped. Hopefully a battery "fixes" it. Batteries weren't my fix according to Ford techs. It was a good truck til it broke. Then Ford just kept guessing at fixes. I'm located within 30 miles of Ford HQ and the truck assembly plant but Ford seem interested in sending a tech out to the dealership to physically see the truck. I actually bought an Explorer as a backup vehicle. That kept going into deep sleep even with a Battery Tender. That was the last straw.

Good luck....

Thanks, At this point getting it figured out seems to be my only option. I’ve already been denied a buyback because I am out of my state’s lemon law period. I have been very fortunate that the dealership has been great at advocating for me to get Ford to cover anything that they have done out of warranty. They have also had me in a suitable loaner at no cost so it could definitely be worse.

Any update on waiting for the battery replacement?
i’ve been meaning to update this. They didn’t end up changing the battery. They ended up replacing the harness that goes to the high voltage fuse box so far everything‘s been OK but it’s only been a few days. sometimes it takes a couple days or weeks for the issue to come back, so I’m still not confident the issue has been resolved.

Can you update us on the current status of the repair? I am currently going back and forth with my dealership because they found corrosion inside the hybrid battery and are telling me the only way it is possible is if the vehicle was submerged. Which it absolutely has not been. They found corrosion on connectors that lead them to that belief. So naturally warranty won't cover it. I am in a loaner now. They've had my truck since Nov. 22, 2024

I saw your post on this and there is no way this was caused by your vehicle becoming submerged. Some of these dealerships will do anything they can to blame the customer.

The high voltage harness ended up being the fix for me. Prior to that they also replaced the main harness that connects pretty much everything throughout the truck. Tough to say if the final repair was the issue all along or if there were multiple issues that required two or more of the repairs they performed.

I swear some folks in the Factory Authorized Service Industry (dealership technicians, managers, service writers) aren't qualified. They don't even have the "talent" necessary to be fixit people. Not everyone should choose the fixit world, afterall it's a trait.

Moisture inside an sealed enclosure.
And that sealed enclosure is mounted underneath a vehicle that might experience wide variations in temperature internally vs externally.

CAN YOU SAY CONDENSATION? ?

I admit that I haven't had the luxury of seeing multiple Powerboost battery enclosures opened like that. But I bet that one is indicative of some percentage of them. Or put another way, I bet that's not the only one with moisture/corrosion on exposed metal conductors.

But the good news is that you now have the pictorial evidence yourself!
You just have to make the unfortunate effort to get the evidence in front of someone who has the authority to your case?

To me, the metal lid is collecting condensation and gravity is causing droplets to fall on those corroded surfaces.

Submerged? Insanity.

If your truck was submerged deep enough for the battery enclosure to be under water? Your truck would have a lot bigger issues that that little patch of corrosion in that enclosure.

I'm ranting, aren't I? ???

And folks around here accuse me of being a Ford apologist.
