I requested a buyback from ford and it was denied.Any new developments?
That's certainly a great economic strategy. Dave Ramsey approved and fiscally wise.Freakin amazing. Ford just went down another notch or two in my eyes, how can they not be totally embarrassed for such an abortion to have left their factory? If my ram ends up lemon lawed, which it very well may, I was going to get a rcsb and have a whipple put on it. Now I'm thinking I may just keep driving my '96 blazer with 302,000 miles on it. The payment is $0 per month and it will have a fresh engine that I put together and installed myself.
Sorry to hear this. It's a situation that I wouldn't wish on anyone.I requested a buyback from ford and it was denied.
I took it to a body shop yesterday to get an estimate and I’m waiting on them to send me a copy.
They had one of the painters come outside to look over the truck and he found some other spots that hadn’t been painted. They’re going to have to remove the bed from the truck and repaint it all. He said that the driver’s side rear has been sanded and buffed so that’s where to buffing compound came from. He also said that the plastic piece between the headlights and front bumper has been sanded and buffed.
Mine was built on 8/23. The inside of the bed on mine has a lot of primer and transparent spots.Do you have a build date of your Blue King Ranch? I'm dealing with literally the same paint issues (minus the bubbling you have) but the insufficient paint coverage on 90% of the trucks panels... I also bought truck sight unseen (Not Granger, but Mid-Michigan) and thought it was originally just the tailgate area, but after futher inspection it's literally the whole truck... Awaiting dealership response, but getting uneasy feeling...
Here is the photos of mine. Same issues..Over the past few days I’ve seen a few posts related to 2024 paint issues in a Facebook group.

Oh no… I thought I wasn’t gonna be affected by this. What was your blend date? 8/20 here… Maybe that explains my 6 week qual hold.
This may turn into a class action lawsuit
You guys need to check the paint thickness over the entire truck and make sure it’s to specifications. Just because you can’t see the primer beneath does not mean the thickness is to specifications. You’ll need a meter like thisNow I need to check a few other areas on mine. I don’t have the spray in liner so there’s a lot inside of the bed. I added wheel well liners, but I’ll check that area today when I get home.
I was hoping you'd wade into the waters on this thread, I always enjoy reading your responses and appreciate your perspective. But I find it fascinating that this thread would be the determining factor. Afterall, you are in a brand new truck currently, and by your own admission, looking for another one.![]()
This sums up where I'm at exactly. I love my F150 and it hasn't given me any crap. I will either drive it until it does, or until I feel it's time to replace it. If car companies haven't got their act together by then and offer me at least a few choices that make sense for my needs, provide me with value for my money, and that I want to drive......my next vehicle purchase will be backwards, so to speak. I will pay a premium for an older, low mileage, well preserved and maintained vehicle.Fair question. I'm very likely to own another new truck, or at least a new vehicle of some sort. However, it needn't be now, or in the next couple of years.
Expanding on that somewhat, new trucks cost a lot of money, and with quality slipping and prices rising, are a less and less attractive use of money. Many seem to think a period of reckoning is coming soon as inventory seems to be stacking up with no sign of prices dropping. Given that I do not really need to buy anything soon, I may well be smart to let any period of reckoning happen before I even seriously consider buying. If the manufacturers are going to get their pee pee's whacked for getting greedy and sloppy I'd rather be in the market after that. In 6 months or a year the landscape may look considerably better for buyers, or it may not. If it does, maybe I'll buy. If it doesn't, the '96 blazer I'll be driving.
