Yep. It certainly worked for me. Weird that this seems to be a random issue. My 22 did not have this issue and my 23 “did” and you have a 22 with this setting. ?
I had a somewhat late build, July 29, 2022 or something like that. Maybe they were already changing it to enabled. It's always bugged me. If it was going to go to that menu, it should have done that and then reverted to the last screen after 5 seconds if no other buttons are pushed.

Damn, thanks for this, mine is set to 8 as well. I have hated this since the day I got the truck. Guess I know what I am doing tomorrow.

Thank you! This is a great find, I’ve resorted to never using that button and just hanging up via the touch screen.

My 22 502A has this problem and I've never understood the logic why. Thanks for investigating and finding a solution!

You're all welcome guys, glad it's helping people ?
Yes credit goes to you for finding the right setting area. I just implemented it and found it to work. ?

I'll jump on the bandwagon and add my kudos as well. Great find! I never understood why the Sync screen changed when that button was pressed. I didn't really like that action, but it did not grow to the point of being an irritant. My "work-around" was to hang up by pressing the button on the Sync screen instead of on the steering wheel.

My truck ('22 502A Lariat) was custom ordered in Dec of '21, and it arrived at the dealer March 17, '22, and the phone/screen was enabled (set to 8), so it started even earlier!

This really should be added to the forscan spreadsheet.
I’ll send a msg to him. I’ve got this issue and another one that is lightning specific that should also be added.

So this is an odd one.

I used to have this quirk until I brought my F150 in to the dealer for an APIM issue. The APIM returned fine but the IPC returned a DTC so they updated the software to a newer version. It's stopped doing it since.

I wonder if someone over in Ford realized the issue and fixed it in an update that hasn't quite made its way to everybody.

It’s possible. But I just did a bunch of updates last week one of which was an ipc update and there was no change to this so it’s a weird one for sure. At least there is a way to easily fix it now. ?

Oh this is great info - my 22 does this as well and as mentioned, I now use the screen to hangup to not have to deal with changing the settings back to my Trip.

I tried changing the AsBuilt values using FORScan, but I found no joy - it didn't work for me. I'm back to using my original "work-around" - using the soft button on the Sync screen to hang up.

Are you sure you changed the correct value? Did you also try rebooting the module?
