Just got an email from Ford saying my navigation has expired ? Couldn’t help but lol @ that.
they want me to pay to use that garbage when I can just plug my phone in and have multiple options for nav.

these auto companies are trying to be tech companies way and don’t come close to the same product

I actually might have to subscribe so I can disable trailer routing.

Every time I tow, I get the annoying height restriction chime.

The only way to disable it is through Sync Nav. And I can't access the towing menu without a subscription. So, I have to pay Ford $20 per month to NOT use a feature. :cautious:

How annoying is that??

I just noticed that the nav no longer (older than 3 yrs?) shows me red and green traffic indicators. Directs me to upgrade at some ridiculous charge.

Feels like extortion. At least for the time being I can be thankful I don't have to pay $monthly for my seat heater (that I already paid hundreds of dollars to purchase to begin with).

That’s what’s known as marketing.

I'm curious if there are any other vehicle features that depend on this subscription. For example, displaying the speed limit when it hasn't recognized a speed sign in a while, etc

Is there a way to remove the NAV icon on the sync screen and replace it with another favorite? Perhaps through forscan?

It’s just like the satellite radio. Why pay when apple car play is free. All these pay for features are useless with phones.

I still use a Garmin GPS. Immune to cell service drop outs and definitly better routing. I will use Maps for local stuff nearby. Two weeks ago Maps got me late for a wedding. Directed me more than 5 miles away from the church. Fortunately I was able to get verbal directions as my sister picked up the phone. Garmin when it counts.

Built in nav works fine for my needs without subscription. I wouldn't want the limited connected only nav option.

I'm curious if there are any other vehicle features that depend on this subscription. For example, displaying the speed limit when it hasn't recognized a speed sign in a while, etc
This works fine without connected navigation subscription. It's wrong, but it always has been wrong at guessing speed limits.

Please the less said about these features the better about not giving FORD other ideas on subscription services :frown:

I just renewed my subscription for 1 year for free using leftover Fordpass reward points acquired when I purchased the truck. Renewal was $80.00 for one year.

This I consider reasonable, unlike the ridiculously high BC subscription.

Subscriptions don’t work @ford nobody is buying this crap. A truck is not a phone, we buy, you supply.

A truck, house, boat is a one time purchase. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Atleast with AA and google maps, as long as you don't close out the route, your GPs will continue to navigate you regardless of cell service. I do have a Garmin Zumo though for my ADV bike that i could easily port over into the truck.
