Hello All 1FTFW1ED4MFB60461

Can somebody check my vin before grab a weekend FDRS sub. My 21 job one truck is failing to install Power up 23-PU0813-DOR-UP2 for a couple of weeks now. I installed new battery and reset BMS yesterday but the update still failed overnight. Battery was fully charged via trickle charge just prior to install and BMS reset. 1FTFW1ED4MFB60461

Thank You

You actually have 2 OTA's in your queue. The other one is 6.5.0, but it won't try to install that one until the other one installs or fails. I see the difference in reported battery conditions from when you swapped batteries, but it is still failing due to battery conditions.

"errorCode":"InhibitRequiredHvNotQualifiedLvLow(204)""totalLvBatteryCapacity":"84""currentLvBatteryDataQuality":"NotWithinSpec""currentLvBatteryVoltage":"12""currentLvBatterySoc":"56""currentLvBatteryTemperature":"37""dynamicPostUpdateSocThreshold":"41""estimatedTimeToActivate":"1251""estimatedTimeIncludingRollback":"2502""currentDrainRate":"9"

The SoC last night when it tried to install was at 56%, but now it is being recorded at 83% as of an hour and a half ago. If you can, try driving the truck for a bit to charge it up some more and then try to manually install it instead of waiting for the auto-updates schedule. Once you get it to install, manually check for updates again and that should activate the OTA trigger for 6.5.0.

Thank you for checking I am always grateful to the knowledge and effort shared here. I will try to get that SOC up tonight. My daily commute to work is 7 mins each way so keeping a solid SOC has been a challenge. I think i will invest in a bluetooth OBD and set up that fancy pid app thing i have been seeing posted about here.

There is no way to speed up the OTA process. The only way to get updates is with a Mongoose cable and FDRS. It requires an investment in the tools needed to do so and a good amount of time. Based on where your truck is, you are looking ar 16+ hours straight of modules updates to get fully updates

PM me your VIN and I will gladly check.
Thanks again @rugedraw. I have another question…I still haven’t received any OTA updates. The dealership did push one update to get me to 2.1.0, but now they are saying in order for me to get OTA updates to work they need to replace the gateway module. Does that track? Not sure what you saw when you pulled my VIN (1FTFW1E86MKE10874) or if a faulty gateway module would show up. I appreciate the help.

OTA history shows you got 2.1.0 via the OTA process on 1/22 at 3:44pm. Vehicle history shows the dealer updated the GWM at 4:54pm which would be the equivalent to OTA 2.1.1. I see no DTCs being reported by the GWM. I am not sure why they want to replace a GWM that just got an update by OTA and was able to be manually updated with FDRS, too. Sounds like a crock of sh*t to me, but the fact they updated the truck for you is a lot more than most dealers do, so I digress. Your next OTA should be 2.6.0 which updates the APIM and TCU.

Nothing you can do unless you invest in the tools needed to update the truck yourself. There is no way to force an OTA to be sent to your truck.
I appreciate the insight. I assume the issues are not like they were a year ago when I had to leave my truck in the shop for 3 days while they updated my truck.

I am curious about my battery. It is now a shade over 3-years old and updates fail to complete in the download process. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Not at all. I'm fully updated except for a pending ACM update that I haven't done because I don't want to to change anything. I like the way it sounds now.

I can't see what your current battery stats are in PTS. The only way I can see it is if you have an update failing and it reports it to the cloud. The last OTA you were sent was 6.3.0 back in December and it failed three times with the following error:

"errorCode":"DiffSpaceCheckFailed(83)""errorCategory":"ERROR_CATEGORY_ALM(3)""ecuId":"2000""fpn":"PU5T-14H212-AFF"

I'm not sure what that means, but the OTA did not fail due to your battery either time. The last time it reported your battery stats to the mothership was on 12/15 the 3rd time it failed, and it reported this:

"groupId":"1""totalLvBatteryCapacity":"67""currentLvBatterySoc":"77""availableLvBatteryCapacity":"51590"

67 of 70 capacity (with OEM battery) and 77% charge. That's not bad at all. You want the SoC a bit higher for updates to go through whenever you do get sent one.

@rugedraw It sounds way better than it did better highs and lows I did change a single kicker to my double 10" under the back seat again I like the extra space but bass kicks better now but even before the change I noticed the sound difference. unless I'm crazy and nothing changed?

What is the ACM update? I skipped it because it asked something about adding a subwoofer.

Probably the update to fix presets changing during updates. I never experienced that and didn't expect to ever get that update but it dropped in OTA months after going on your file. Approved and installed. No notable change in audio.

Not that I've noticed, but I've swapped out several key speakers in my truck and have two 12's, only use wired Android auto and only stream hi-res music with Qobuz. My tunes anyways sound crispy af, so I'm probably not the right person to ask. Lol
