As always, Thank you @rugedraw ! I'm not panicking, I'm just fed up with this ridiculousness.I am sure a new battery would allow the update to go through. Keep in mind that the algorithm used to determine if the battery meets the OTA required conditions is more than just SoC. It also looks at capacity, temperature, estimated draw, etc. If the combo of these parameters don't add up, the OTA will fail to install. In your case it seems like the capacity or battery data quality (whatever that is) does not meet spec.
"errorCode":"InhibitRequiredHvNotQualifiedLvLow(204)""totalLvBatteryCapacity":"79""currentLvBatteryDataQuality":"NotWithinSpec""currentLvBatteryVoltage":"12""currentLvBatterySoc":"83""currentLvBatteryTemperature":"19""dynamicPostUpdateSocThreshold":"41""estimatedTimeToActivate":"420""estimatedTimeIncludingRollback":"660""currentDrainRate":"9"
Don't panic.....you just got the OTA trigger yesterday so have 29 days to get it to go through (unless the OTA gets recalled by the mothership which is rare, but can happen). You don't need an H8 to get it to go through; just a healthy battery will suffice. An H7/H8 battery won't hurt, though.
But this battery's capacity???? The battery was replaced in Sep/Oct (2nd time)... My dealer did say the batteries were garbage though and a lot fail, this just seems very early. I do turn off auto stop/start every time I drive to try and help it though. Prolly should just Forscan disable it.
Do you (or anyone else) know if the EverStart batteries are actually quality or just cheap garbage? Some say that they're German made and OEM quality (FWTW) because there's only 2 factories that actually make all of them.
