Until BC whatever gets all the updates pushed out we aren't missing anything. Just waiting out the process.
Gotta wonder if all that preparing to update the future updates to prepare for more updates last year did anything at all.

Does anyone know if Ford pushes OTAs out on weekends? Or if it’s Friday and I haven’t gotten anything, I’ve gotta wait for Monday.

Yea, OTA's do get sent over the weekend.

I'm not sure if they do or not. To date I have never received an OTA on a weekend.

100% confident that they do. The OTA triggers are created by the mothership's server. As long as an OTA is not on hold, that trigger can be created at any time of the day, and day of the week.

@rugedraw good morning! I haven't received any updates since owning my truck on Dec 15th. I asked the dealer to make sure it was current before I picked it up, but I doubt they did anything.

My Sync 4 about screen says 23045_PRODUCT, Rev 731

Could you check to see if I have any updates in my queue?

thank you so much.

No OTA in queue at this time. Based on the Sync version you are on, you are two version behind the latest one. I do not have access to FDRS until later to check what modules you have pending, but I am sure you have several.

Thanks for checking. Is this something I can just schedule with my local dealer? To get all module updates applied?

No, because Ford does not pay dealers for the hours it would take to update your truck even under warranty. Some (very few) people have had success getting their dealer to do updates, but I would not count on it.

My dealer will absolutely do updates, but only if they’re “released” by ford for my truck. So, if they’re in FDRS they’ll do the updates if I tell them X or Y isn’t working right ??‍♂. But, based on all the comments I’ve read in here, I think they’re more the exception than the rule.

That is actually normal dealer behavior. If you go in and say X or Y isn’t working right and a module software update will fix it, that is considered a repair and the dealer will do it under warranty. What @rugedraw is referring to is when you go in and say you want the Z module updated and there’s nothing specifically wrong with it that you can point to. If you just say it’s out of date and you want it updated anyway to the newest version in FDRS available for your truck, most dealers will tell you to take a hike. It’s not considered a repair and the dealer ordinarily can’t get reimbursed for it.

Does anyone have any thoughts about an EverStart Platinum AGM Automotive Battery, Group Size H8 12 Volt, 900 CCA from Wally World to replace my factory H6 (2021 3.5 Ecoboost)? We’ve already agreed it’ll fit in the tray but will it prevent the low SOC shenanigans?
I’ve hooked up my truck to my NOCO Genius 10, charged it full, reset the BMS and the update still fails.
So:
A. Will an H8 prevent this?
B. Can I trick the system into thinking there’s enough charge? I have the charger bolted to the battery and it’s on charge (not supply) but it still fails (1FTFX1E89MKE30341). And the wires are run down the headlights and the hood is closed/latched. Charger repositioned for photo in case there’s a better hookup method. Thanks

I am sure a new battery would allow the update to go through. Keep in mind that the algorithm used to determine if the battery meets the OTA required conditions is more than just SoC. It also looks at capacity, temperature, estimated draw, etc. If the combo of these parameters don't add up, the OTA will fail to install. In your case it seems like the capacity or battery data quality (whatever that is) does not meet spec.

"errorCode":"InhibitRequiredHvNotQualifiedLvLow(204)""totalLvBatteryCapacity":"79""currentLvBatteryDataQuality":"NotWithinSpec""currentLvBatteryVoltage":"12""currentLvBatterySoc":"83""currentLvBatteryTemperature":"19""dynamicPostUpdateSocThreshold":"41""estimatedTimeToActivate":"420""estimatedTimeIncludingRollback":"660""currentDrainRate":"9"

Don't panic.....you just got the OTA trigger yesterday so have 29 days to get it to go through (unless the OTA gets recalled by the mothership which is rare, but can happen). You don't need an H8 to get it to go through; just a healthy battery will suffice. An H7/H8 battery won't hurt, though.
