software or hardware update? My Unleashed system really woke up after a DSP update. Anything above about 13 now is painful.
Software. I applied an available DSP and ACM update with FDRS and it was like an entirely different sound system.software or hardware update?
The majority of dealerships wont update it other than possibly 1-2 modules that are related to a recall or TSB. There is no financial incentive for them to do so. If you want to get it fully up to date, you will most likely need to do it yourself.Brother. I feel your pain lol. Going on week 3 with this brand new truck and disappointed with sound. I’m going to take it to ford for an update since it’s far behind
I just set the sound slider center and slightly to the rear and I've been pretty impressed with itAre the rear speakers, now, somehow, being amplified???
so you don’t plug back in? Does that mess with anything? An easy cheat code for both the regular and unleashed B&O systems is to simply uplug the dash center speaker. Takes 3 minutes.
Just pop off the panel that has the B&O icon, then unscrew the speaker, disconnect and replace.
Ive done this for 3 friends. All are glad I did.
No it doesn't. Common thing done on this forum actually.so you don’t plug back in? Does that mess with anything?
So what does that do really? No it doesn't. Common thing done on this forum actually.
That little speaker completely overpowers everything else from the factory. By removing it, you no longer have to fade to the rear as much, so you'll get fuller richer sound from the front. So what does that do really?
I guess that's one way to force a balance of your fade by eliminating a powered front speaker, but it still does nothing for the non-amped speakers in the back?
Just lowers the overall volume of the truck.
Side note: this is the first Ive ever heard or read of this ...
Here's one about someone putting in a higher resistance speaker in there. Ive tried both removing and this approach and concluded both removing or replacing with higher ohmage does the same effect. So what does that do really?

Audio guy going to try and isolate the two rear speakers off the ACM Wednesday and amplify them. Here's one about someone putting in a higher resistance speaker in there. Ive tried both removing and this approach and concluded both removing or replacing with higher ohmage does the same effect.

Try it for yourself. Super easy to do and undo.
thanks for the info. I do like that Siri and NAV come out of that speaker without lowering the music volume but it’s a hit and missNo it doesn't. Common thing done on this forum actually.
Makes sense. Hope you guys get it all sorted out! Just sharing what myself and others have had success with. Let us know your findings!Audio guy going to try and isolate the two rear speakers off the ACM Wednesday and amplify them.
Part of my other complaint is the overall sound of the Unleashed is lower volume than my 2015 Platinum. So last thing I want to do is remove one of the powered speakers...
