Curious on this one,

1FTFW1EDXNFB01142

It was sold in canada. Since been imported to US. It has hardware for blue cruise, but no blue cruise installed. curious what it would take to get blue cruise loaded.
Have you connected the truck to your Ford Pass account?
Does sync about screen not list a Bluecruise expiration date?

Strangely enough, your OTA history is blank since the update you got on 1/29. Not sure why you aren't getting any love from Ford, but I don't think there's anything wrong with your truck. It is communicating just fine with Ford.
Thanks for checking again. I guess the only way to get any updates at this point is through FDRS. Is that correct? But even if I do that, it probably won't trigger Ford to start sending new updates.

I don't see any good reason why you haven't been sent any. You can call it bad luck, I guess.

Yes, the only way to get updates without waiting on the crappy OTA process is with FDRS.

I have not, but on the test drive I did not see blue cruise as listed in the driver assist menu. Also, beacuse it was sold in canada, the window sticker does not mention blue cruise but it has the driver assist sensors for it.

Thanks for the info. I'll live with what I have for now. Once BC 1.3 comes out, I'll get a lot more interested in getting updates.

@Paul Neubauer They did it on 9/20. It failed to install the regular way and they had to CAN it in with FDRS. Same as my trucks and many others. The tech started the IPC update at 8:54 am and finished at 3:39pm. This is why dealers don't wanna do it. You owe that tech a bottle of Scotch. lol

My truck has never had a successful IPC OTA and probably never will. Don't be surprised if your next IPC OTA fails, too.

He's correct, I'm in the failed IPC club too. I let it fail 6 weeks earlier this year before I got tired of the message and used FDRS. Now I know I'll need to do another one eventually when BC updates arrive. My luck that will be middle of winter and I'm not fooling with it then so my truck will fall behind on whatever updates come afterwards.

I told them that this is a recurring issue and the module has a problem but I doubt they looked into it any further. I am surprised they hooked the truck up and updated the module but Ford is overseeing this trip to the dealership for problems and they have gone above and beyond taking care of and fixing problems.

The theory (as per Jesse) is a faulty ethernet port on the IPC. There is no way to diagnose it, so they won't replace it under warranty since they can't claim it to Ford. If your truck is one of those, just be prepared for it to happen again in the future. There is really nothing you can do. One of many reasons why I have a Mongoose. You can always borrow one of mine when the time comes and save yourself from the dealership circus.

I have a mongoose but was hoping for the dealership to actually fix or replace the faulty module while it was spending an extended vacation at the dealership. 3 weeks and going gives them a lot of time to figure stuff out.

You are correct; your truck has not gotten a successful update since it left the factory. You are on Sync 20301 and your truck will never get an update until your APIM's software is updated past where it is right now. Your truck was sent OTA 1.7.1 in August, but it timed out. I am guessing the truck was sitting in the dealer lot during the OTA trigger and it expired without attempting to install since nobody turned the truck on to give it consent to install. However, it would have failed anyway.

Attached is the TSB your dealer would need to follow to get it to update. Based on what I have seen in the past, they will most likely not be able to/want to do it and just say it would not update and order you a new one. Once they get your APIM situated, you will start getting OTA's, but it will be a looooong time before you are up to date.
I got my truck back from the dealer today and they claimed they “updated” the system and did a master reset. The truck shows the Sync version is now 20312 rev 243. Did they actually do anything beyond the factory reset?
