Something must be off on the configurators. I thought PB's all came with the 36 gallon tank previously. I didn't think you could spec with the small tank. Kind of like you need to get 4wd. I can't imagine they're going to only off the small tank. I love that my '21 shows 690 miles of range when I fill up.

Yes, never trust the configurator

There's nothing here that is saying subscription (as in ongoing payment). The likelihood is that this will be a one time payment, which is essentially you paying for the option package.

This will also only apparently be a thing for XLT, since all the other trims say "Full Activation."

30 gallon. 36 never fit because the battery would interfere.

The Platinum is showing a 30 gallon tank. Might be a data issue in the configurator. Offering 3 fuel tanks isn't consistent with Ford's effort to reduce the number of parts. Also, if you're looking at Lariat with the 502A package, you might consider moving up to the Platinum 701A. You give up HUD, and a better sound system, but you gain Powerboost, bed utility package, tow/haul package, power running boards, and Platinum trim for close to the same cost. If you didn't care for the chrome midsection on the tailgate, a Platinum might be your new loaded Lariat.

The Pro Access Tailgate is showing late availability. What is late? March 24 or August 24? Is the feature fully engineered or is this Ford's way to say it's coming? Sounds like a defensive move in the tailgate wars?

You give up BAP w/ duals, audio is the same, HUD is gone, bed utility package reduces payload ~55lbs, aftermarket powered boards are preferable. A nicely loaded 502 to a base platinum is a downgrade for a decal package. The swing tailgate also delays orders.

first and foremost...i kinda dig the new tail gate. as someone else mentioned, wonder if it would swap over. that and the HUD is gimmicky and neat at the same time.
two, the configurator is absolute crap. thats being to nice, its straight up hot garbage. i believe when the 14Gen came out the configurator was crap as well.
three, what the F ford!? why cant i get a F'ing long bed with the BAP!!! seriously!
four, no power running boards for Lariats!?

also, for shits and giggles, i decided to build a couple quickly to my taste.

Both Lariat and Platinum will have 6.5 beds and the same options...
3.5EB, 3.55 w/tow, bed utility, rapid red, bed liner, wheel well, blue cruise 3yr

Lariat 502A $77570
Platinum 701A $86105
Raptor 801A w/bed liner $80570

i understand the platinum has multi-contour (wait til i see it) but what the hell!

my 22 Lariat is loaded with EVERY option you could basically get with no deletions and it was $75070 (stickered)
so the difference on paper doesnt look that bad and its closer if you take away the Rapid Red paint but i have powered boards and the 24 doesnt so that difference is negated...sorry guys, looks like anyone with a 21-23 made good choices.

cant believe a raptor is more obtainable price wise than a damn platinum even if it is apples to oranges.

The new tailgate seems like a worse version of the Ram. Blue Cruise price seems very high for what it is. I use it fairly often but no way I'd pay that much a year for it. I know it's a midcycle but it seems pretty underwhelming, not that I was looking to upgrade from my 22 anyway. We'll see how the next gen stacks up vs the competition.

It's nice to see them break out the subscription rate from the hardware and make copilot assist standard. Given comma's work, folks should be able to purchase a better system for a 1 time price of $1300. Hopefully ford doesn't go trying to restrict their access to the sensors and ability to steer / stop / go.

a Platinum might be your new loaded Lariat.
Loaded Lariat has more options and is less expensive than a base Platinum now. Loaded Lariat includes HUD, B&O Unleashed, and dual exhaust. Platinum does not, but does include a better looking front end, auto running boards, and better seats.

No, the PB’s have always had their own weird tank size that’s smaller than the big tow package one. It’s either 30 or 32, 30 sounds familiar though. The “small tank” is smaller than 30, it’s somewhere in the mid 20s I believe.

I'm somewhat surprised there's no new hybrid.
well it's a good thing there is no NEW or REVISED powerboost engine yet. that thing has only been out since 2021 and it is going to need plenty of usage/feedback before Ford goes back to the drawing board.

A few things I've noticed: 5.0 not available in King Ranch and Platinum. King Ranch only available with 6.5' bed? Platinum not available with dual exhaust. 4x4 is standard on Lariat and up? KR comes standard with HUD but Platinum does not. Losing Azure Gray and Stone Gray colors, gaining Darkened Bronze. KR only available with 2 tone paint (no more chrome package). No more tailgate appliqué on KR and Platinum. Limited replaced with Platinum Plus. Lariat BAP loses Tremor hood. No more Lariat Sport. STX standalone trim replaces Rattler. I don't see the bed extender option or the upgraded tailgate option. No word on Tremor with Lariat headlights. No word on Lobo trim.
it's barely been 1 day since the unveil of the 2024 model year lol.. there is still plenty of unreleased information i can assure us.
