Car companies need taught a lesson with the subscription shiet, they jack the price up on the truck and then make you pay fees to make it work as advertised is bs …

I will never pay extra money to these guys …
Some people will like it enough to pay for it. If even half a million people pay for it they have a nice chunk of change. Micro transactions and subscriptions are the way companies make money these days from phones to TVs all around the home. Car industry wants a slice of that pie.

From what I've read about it I'll be happy to keep my hands on system that I've already tested on a 250 mile day trip. The question is if they will start charging some lesser fee for adaptive cruise too. $5 monthly or you only get old fashioned cruise control? I admit I use the adaptive more than I ever used regular cruise. It's a shiny new toy to me.

360 cams and bluecruise came standard in 23 MME. Both are paid options if you want to use them.

Presumably, but as I stated I am skeptical that Ford would add all of that equipment to XL and XLT trims, I can't imagine that they would ROI on subscriptions at that price point. I think the poster above who believes that it will be standard on the Lariat and above is probably right.
Makes sense, we should be getting the official word from Ford soon.

"BlueCruise will indeed come standard in the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150, as well as the 2024 F-150 Lightning and the 2024 Expedition, meaning that customers can take advantage of a complimentary trial before purchasing a subscription to see if it’s the right fit for them. According to a recent S&P Global Mobility study, 82 percent of customers surveyed who had taken advantage of a free trial or an existing connected service plan said they would either “definitely” or “probably” consider purchasing a connected service on a future new vehicle purchase."

"As Ford Authority previously reported, new BlueCruise customers must shell out $2,100 for a three-year subscription when they decide to activate the feature, or they can choose to instead pay $800 per year or $75 per month. Those that ultimately opt out of any of these options can still take advantage of Adaptive Cruise Control, which is able to maintain a safe distance between a vehicle and another vehicle in front of it."

" Regardless, this is still big news for prospective 2024 Ford F-150, F-150 Lightning, and Expedition customers, specifically, as BlueCruise was previously included as an option on the 2023 F-150 and F-150 Lightning for the Lariat trim and up, while the 2023 Expedition included it as standard equipment on the range-topping Platinum trim only.

Ford can eat a bowl of dicks! They already charged for the option and I’d of preferred not to have it. Really didn’t care either way. But 800 a year for that bs? I would hope (won’t happen) that the majority don’t pay it. Be the only way the price will come down. And it would have to come down a lot!

I'm not sure who they had in this poll, but I bet it was before they jacked the price up to 800/year. I seriously doubt they got 82% even considering renewing at that price. I suspect the renewal rate will be 5% or less. Even 1 in 20 is probably a good enough revenue stream for them that they won't lower the price after seeing the lack of renewals.

I have a 2023 F-150 Powerboost and used B-C some of the time on my recent trip to Canada, I liked it but can't say I depended on it during interstate driving. I personally don't plan on any B-C or other subscription services period, except Sirius. Once you opt into subscriptions, no matter the service, they will be nickel and diming you to death for years to come...its just ops normal for ALL subscription services.

$800/Year? Absolutely insane. Sorry, Ford can't make up those Billions in losses with subscriptions. I currently have BC disabled,..... well I have the eye scanning witch disabled, (have I told you I love you Jesse, lately?) and it's 99% because I spend so little time on Bluecruise roadways.

I have 3 years pre-paid. I won't subscribe even if 1.2/1.3 are the cat's meow, unless my driving includes BC roads in significant quantity.

I like the monthly subscription model because it would allow me to purchase some BC magic on a road trip opportunity if it popped up. Thus not committing for a year.

Wait what?! You have to pay to use the 360 cams on the Mach E? How much is it?

I think he was only referring to BC part as far as it being subscription based.

With that said, I won't pay $800 a year for BC 1.0, 1.2, 1.3 or any future variant of it. I've had my truck for almost two years and I have 11,500 miles. I barely use it now that it's free. My daily commute is short, and I rarely have to get on a highway where I even have the chance use it.

With that said: If I did drive a lot and drove on highways, I still wouldn't pay $800 a year for it.

No, I was specific. 360 cams and BC in all cars, pay to use.

All the more reason I plan on buying my truck when the lease matures in a year.
It still comes as a free feature for the higher trims / tech option package. To streamline production of the MME, there's almost no options now.

I don't drive enough highways miles to justify paying $800/year for BC. They would have to introduce some awesome feature or open up the software on a lot more roads. I don't have enough faith in Ford's software engineers to pay that much.

I’d be curious if the ‘24’s come with manual crank windows still on the most basic XL let alone Blue Cruise ? Then again they do all have the safety alerts with the camera behind the rear view mirror.

If it was really the cat’s meow I’d probably pay for it considering I drive 60k miles a year, but I don’t like regular adaptive cruise in traffic so it may not be worth the subscription for Blue Cruise. I’d be one of those customers that could be convinced if it was good enough though
