I actually spent some time "adding a trailer", then entering the information, placing the sticker on the utility trailer, calibrating, and finally actually using backup pro assist.

It's my forth truck with the feature and I DO pull 3 different RV's and 2 utility trailers, yet never gotten around to using the system.

I gotta admit it's pretty amazing with the camera views of this 2022 and the dashboard knob doing the geometry for me.

So.... Now I'm ready to chase down this Pro Hitch feature and see if it not only activates, but works well with the trailer.

Antho was good enough to provide the exact values for the ABS and IPMA, but since I had a typo in my APIM values, he couldn't do the same for it.

Here's the current value according to a backup I have

APIM 7D0-01-0 3 is 724D 25E5 3F

What should that "E" be?

Thanks!

And you just showed me what you guys meant by "corresponding sheet"

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I have used Forscan and the infamous Livnitup spreadsheet more times than I can remember, but never ventured further than the common page. (except for the VDM module)

I just experienced my Forscan wallah moment. ?

This was my first time venturing past the first page myself. It took me a few minutes to figure out how it works but once I figured it out for the first character I had to change the rest was easy (well other than when it didn’t work because I didn’t reset my apim and drive to calibrate and I thought I did it all wrong :) )

Bingo. Trailer hitch assist works on my 2021 Job 1 Platinum.

I had some DTCs. Odd in that I did a read and a clear before I shut down when I made the original changes. But I didn't do the APIM reset. After the clear and reset and another read for new DTCs ... all good.

I busted out loud laughing.

The four fellas (sons and sons-in-law) at the BBQ pit all stopped talking and looked over.

I responded "it's nothing. Stop goofing around. I'm hungry"

Did it ask you to go into Neutral and then hold the Pro Trailer Button?
I can't get mine to take over and autonomously backup up the truck
I'm going to do more testing tomorrow!

Yes. Put in neutral and hold the button. It will steer, gas, brake. But hover over the brake....

Just as an aside.... after studying the Ford sales brochures and reading the F150 owners manual (2X+) .... and not that I am counting... but 724 days ago I ordered my F150. TODAY.. for the first time... It can do everything Ford promised me it would do per the trim and options I ordered.

Outstanding!

You can always just read your backup file to see the original value.
Then you will know what to edit in Forscan without doing a restore.
Sort of - AFAIK, OTA updates and FDRS updates can also (and probably often do) change values/settings in the various modules. So in theory, restoring an out-of-date backup could cause issues beyond simply reverting Forscan changes you've made.

@Jesse-Infotainment - any insights?

Yes. Some modules have values for certain configs remapped during an update. So backing up your asbuilt post updates and changes are important.

THis is correct. You have to be cautious about using back ups. After an update the config can change. Moving things or adding new features.

The bluecruise updates are probably the best example. The IPMA had massive changes in the config. The BCM is another example. The config changed and some had issues with the bed lamp not working because ford didnt apply the updated config.

Its just best to try and keep up with the changes made individually. Even then the changes will eventually migrate to the ford side of things. Some of the issues created during the first round of BlueCruise updates were due to changes in the IPC and IPMA.

You have to know if you make As build changes an update could be more challenging then if you had not made changes. Luckily for those on the forum someone can usually help you get things sorted. Its the price to pay for tinkering.

The suggestion to use AsBuilt explorer was to avoid applying a backup if you were just desiring to review a previous value on a specific line or two. Or at least I think that's what the fella was desiring that I suggested Explorer to.

I agree that yesterday's AsBuilt is what it used to be previous to Gen14 trucks. For all the obvious reasons.

Apparently the '23 Lightnings & Super Duty have a feature called Pro Trailer Hitch Assist that automatically controls steering, throttle and brake inputs to make hitching trailers easier.

Requirements: Pro Trailer Backup Assist.

The following values should enable this but we would like to get feedback from guys with '21-'23s to see if it works with all the years. If so, then I will add it to the common spreadsheet

Pro Trailer Hitch Assist (Autohitch)
APIM 7D0-01-03 xxxx xx*x xx-- Autohitch
ABS 760-03-01 xx*x -- Autohitch (use 760-03-01 xxx* -- for Tremor/Raptor)
IPMA 706-01-01 xxxx xx*x xx-- ModuleFeatureCfg_AH

NOTE: use the corresponding spreadsheets to find your value where the * is above & reset the APIM module (FORScan wrench icon) after the change and clear any DTCs that may be present.
Wow! This is amazing. Just when I think the capabilities of my truck is maximized.

Just to be sure I am doing this right, I go to the lines in each of the modules referenced, see what features I have there and change the value to reflect the same features except turning on Auto Hitch. For example, for the IPMA, I currently have a 1, I would then change that value to a 5.

As a former software developer I have the tendency of backing up everything before I start tinkering.

I backed up all the as-built modules after I finished all the updates on FDRS and then started changing values on forscan.

Everything is working perfectly, just patiently waiting for coolwalk to be released in Canada ?

I activated the reverse tilting mirrors on bcm last night. Now under setting - vehicle - mirrors, the option is there.
The instructions say put the vehicle in reverse, and then select from the mirror adjustment panel which side mirror you want to tilt.

I tried it today and when I select the drivers side mirror, it just keeps going down and it doesn't stop. When you deactivate it, it goes back to its original position.
Passenger does the same but when you deactivate it, it starts moving outwards and keeps going till you push the opposite direction button.

Is this a fixable bug or simply can't get reverse tilting mirrors on a 75k $ truck?
??‍♂(lol ford)
