ECU module programming guide using FDRS

What all does the GSM module control? I updated the ABS and GSM modules along with the APIM and my truck shifts way better and even uses 2nd gear now which has NEVER happened.

GSM is the Gear Shift Module its the shifter.
I think that was a part of the PCM update

Yeah it does seem weird that a master is required to get Alexa. Maybe we are a little too ahead of the curve and there’s another update that wouldn’t require it.

As soon as Ford Pass notified me that Alexa was activated, I checked the truck and the tile was there and an icon on the top right banner. I really don't think a reset is required and it is just a waiting game. The reset also dumped my Bluecruise and connected navigation which is not going to fly for the average driver!

Same bahavior I noticed, I just let it sit and it came online a few hours later

It seem to have modified something on the transmission shifting behavior. I was about to take this thing into Ford and have it looked at but now it is like a different truck. It will likely not last and go back to being its usual rough shifting self but I hope this fixed something.

I have heard from many people the PCM update fixed the Powerboost shifting

Those that have lost Securalert. We may need the TCU update. I am pretty sure there will be one rolling out. The 2022s had the gateway. Then the APIM and now recently a TCU update.

So if we dont get it back up we can wait for the TCU update and see what happens after that. Ive looked at and tried everything I can think of. So it will most likely be a TCU update. Securalert was introduced in a Update of the TCU originally. SO possibly that is the issue. Just something to put out here.

I don’t think that will fix it. I had securialert yesterday after the 22228 update. Once I did the master reset it disappeared and hasn’t come back. Just an FYI. It was there before the master reset.

I finally did do a master reset this afternoon after thinking it was going to be required. I wouldn't think Ford would force everyone to wipe out all their settings including dumping Ford Pass and start over but who knows anymore... On a side note, Securalert is no longer an option in Ford Pass after the reset.

Thanks. I think I will wait it out. Don't really plan on using it so not worth the mess of a master reset now. Could be reception thing as we have terrible cell reception at our house.

I think all the important stuff is happening on the FordPass end and resetting things are just causing additional slowdowns that are unnecessary.

I updated yesterday. I did not do a master reset. This evening Alexa showed up on its own. Probably about 24 hours between the update and activation. To be clear I never reset. Patience worked in my case.
