The current employee pricing is better and if you have a private cash offer you can stack it.

my company gave us a a 4 letter/number code to enter at the ford partner website. once you entered the code, you could go directly to fords website and search inventory, and it would show you the X-Plan (which is what i had) pricing of the vehicle.

Why buy "x" plan when they are giving "employee pricing"?

What do you mean by private cash offer?
It’s an additional discount offered to individuals by Ford. You can call Ford customer service or have the dealership check their system to see if you have one. Sometimes dealership websites will have pop-ups that allow you to add one to your account.

I think its because you can stack private cash offers on top of x plan or a plan. Where the current deal they give you the employee price but thats it, no rebates, no cash offers, no lease incentives etc. Basically its "no haggle" pricing if you want it, but really its no haggle for the dealer.

Think of it like this
X plan is a tool in box
Employee pricing is a tool
Research for the ride you want is a tool

I use my x plan login to see inventory and the plan price
Then I compare that to what the dealer has listed as sales price
X plan used to be the better deal if you were not a Ford employee or dealership employee
But except during covid. Most reputable dealers sell vehicle at or just below X plan
They also depend on state
Can recoup dome via the doc fee and other dealer fees.

Others sell at xx percent below msrp sticker..or "invoice"

Use X plan to build price and see real ford X plan cost for that vehicle
Trust me..no body is at loss for profit on the vehicle
Skid fees, advert fees, dealer prep, etc
But if you use X plan.. you are required under plan rules to tell dealer upfront.
They will show you the invoice and it has a, z, d, X plan numbers right at the bottom

X plan price is non negotiable
Thats the cost plus the fee and dealer gets a skid fee from ford, plus what ever they add on
Allllll dealer fees charged to customer are negotiable. Except tax and title state fees and taxes.

Bottom line
Find vehicle you want
Login to Ford partner site
See what X plan is
Look at what dealer is advertising for and choose which works better for you
i have used x plan since 2006...out of 9 fords...i used it to be a better deal 3 times
my recent 24 f250 was sold at waaay less than employee price, it had been sitting for over 6 months
my 22 f150 i used x plan and traded a 21 f250 that was COVID hot and i stole the 22 basically, because they wanted the f250 so bad as they were hard to find
use all the tools you have ....its your dollar

Remember some m8dels are exempted fron X plan..
Right now...trucks are still moving..so prices are commensurate with demand
If you pay cash.. you are in a better boat to mske out.
Most dealers try not to use Ford credit
Because deals they have with other lenders in name of kick backs
Interst rates are to high right now

sorry for my ignorance, as this is all new to me. How do I “check x plan pricing at a partner website”? I have a 8 digit PIN that was emailed to me.
I googled ford partner site, but it looks like it needs an “employer code” to login and try. I tried using my PIN, but didn’t think it would work. It didn’t.

I used X-plan when I bought the 2020 Ranger and 2022 F150. Both at the same dealership and they only charged me about $125 over dealer invoice on each of them and the sales manager showed the actual invoices each time at sale before I signed off. I also got an additional 2K off as a special incentive as a repeat buyer on the F150 because they were running that at the time as well.

when people say “invoice +4%”, am I correct in assuming the invoice price is the price that specific dealership paid Ford corporate, which is going to be lower than MSRP sticker price?
That's a "yes, but . . ."

The dealer pays invoice--but gets "holdbacks" and such from ford based on what they sell.

This is why Granger & friends can make money selling below invoice (4% on F-150, 3% on Maverick, higher on Dodge)

but I am a little distrustful because 1. He’s a salesman 2. He already kind of told me things that aren’t true (“you have to be a family member. It’s a hassle you don’t wanna deal with”).
gosh, after #1, I thought #2 was going to be "his lips were moving"!
