There is no possible emergency that allows that kind of driving. Like you said, the shoulder pass was insane. The honda (or whatever he passed) cooperating likely saved the day by tapping the brakes. Even motorcycles have no excuse trying that crap.

If you're not going 20mph+ over the speed limit, you're going too slow and will be punished.
Wife grew up in the Pinecrest/Palmetto area of Miami, just a few miles from where this video was shot. Went to college, parents moved to SC and we've never been back.

It’s not an Interstate, but US 1 South of Homestead is it’s own special kind of hell.

Wife and I got to take our most recent kid free vacation to Miami this past February. Thankfully I splurged on the car with massage seats and the kids weren’t with us, sat on the bridge to Cross Key for two hours before traffic began to crawl to a point where we could at least turn around and forget our plans in Islamorada, I pity anyone who has to frequent that thing.

If I had to guess, I've spent at least 6-8 months of total hours sitting in I-4 traffic during my lifetime. When I lived in Orlando, I commuted 45 miles EACH way to work, during peak traffic hours. It was a good 2-4 hour trip, depending how how fucked I-4 was at the moment.

Never again.. I'm so grateful to be able to work from home now. I bought my truck about 7 months ago, and just recently turned 3k miles.

HA! I remember once (don't remember the highway) when I was traveling that we were in fairly heavy traffic but moving. We were all doing 50 or so but there was a lot of vehicles. One guy was like the guy in the video and swerving in and out of other cars and cutting people off so he could move up and extra 1 foot.

He also came up with the bright idea to use the shoulder. He swerved over quickly and there was a muffler and pipe there that he could not see and ran it over. I saw his car lift up as he ran it over and heard a lot of metal and saw the pipe hit the side of his car. I LMAO.

What if that had been some kid walking down the shoulder, he may not have seen that kid either. I always hoped he effed up his car but good.

Seems like this is normal driving in Florida especially anywhere south of I-10. Traveling south out of Georgia once people hit I-10 it seems like they feel the need to drive in the passing lanes and hold everyone else back. If people just had a little bit of courtesy, it would prevent a lot of road rage.

Sadly common courtesy to fellow people has taken a vacation lately. I hope we can get back to that soon.

While I do not, in any way shape or form, defend this driver, I will not judge him/her until I hear their side. I can tell you that if the only option for me to have another second with my parents before they took their last breath, that would be me driving like that any time of day, any road or weather condition.

What was that semi truck doing obstructing the left lane? There's usually enough common sense laws on the books to prevent such traffic issues. That'd have been 2 tickets for him here.
Same here in ON Canada. Semi trucks are forbidden to use passing lanes if more than 2 lanes exist. A recipe for road rage.

Semi's in left lane is just cringe. In a lot of European countries left lane is for passing only and no trucks. Ticket if you prolong drive
