Found this in the cup holder when my truck was delivered. Any idea what this is for?

Probably something used in assembly.
I'm not impressed with dealer if they left something like that in truck.

I found an assembly line part inside my front fender last year. ?‍♂

I found a random washer in the back footwell... hope that wasn't important...

Looks far too rudimentary for an official Ford assembly tool. Also, manufacturers love their part numbers.

An additional picture or two with something for scale would help.

It looks like 1/4” hot rolled square rod with the mill scale still on it after a few crimps and a bend plus whatever the notch for that weird plastic piece.

It could be part of a cheap lock-out tool set. Or a part from a 70’s or 80’s car, like a battery hold down, prop rod or something similar that technician at the dealership has been using as a back scratcher and left in your truck.

I think that figuring out what this plastic clip is would be a good start.

I am wondering if it was to hook under the brake pedal and connecting it to the steering wheel to keep the wheel straight and the brake from being applied perhaps during transport/loading/unloading.
