Looks good. Can't tell if it's the way the light hits your truck or not but I can't tell if it's two tone....

Sealed the tailgate, hopefully I’ll have less dust sucked in there going off-road now.

ignore the cargo net, that’s just a temporary spot before I go get hardware to install it properly

Is this an after market item?

I've had issues with my power tailgate randomly not releasing (often during hotter weather) and being super loud when it releases.

Took off the work surface to expose the tailgate actuator assembly:

Ford F-150 What did you do TO your F-150 today? πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Tailgate

Then adjusted the releases. I used the manual release handle (C) to check how the latches were releasing. (A) controls the left latch and (B) controls the right latch. I used sharpie to mark the rod position where it came from the factory (you can see it in the photo below on threads). Both rods had significant amounts of slack in them and the left latch was releasing after the right latch - the tailgate under pressure was getting hung up on the left latch after the right released.

I brought both rods in by 2 threads to get rid of the slack (the blue clips open with a flathead), then I had to bring in the rod for the left latch another 2-3 threads to get them to release at the same time. Sprayed some lubricant on the moving parts to help things along.

Tested it out to make sure the tailgate wasn't on a hair trigger and it releases cleanly with a nice subdued "thunk" when the actuator goes. The most time consuming part was taking all the bolts for the work surface out. Super easy adjustment.

Nice write up! Thanks for posting with the great pics.

I've now owned mine for a month. Most mods so far have been the basics (total cost shipped, installed by me except the bedliner):

Patriot spay-in bedliner: $480
Bedrug XLT: $218.45
BakFlip MX4 tonneau: $1,139.99
Ford tailgate damper: $83.70
Ford Boxlink plates: $56.00
Ford Boxlink cleats: $69.40
Ford rear wheel well liners: $178.95
Borla S catback: $766.99
Ford Aeroskin II deflector: $89.10
Ford/TufSkinz tailgate letters $71.65
Ford stoneguard delete caps: $23.10
Do you like your BAKFlip MX4? I'm considering HARD at getting that one.

This is my second one. I like the looks and functionality. Install was a little more finicky on the F-150 than my Tacoma. When I torqued the bolts on the brackets, the side rails kept wanting to tilt down. Had to get a second person to hold some upward pressure on the rails while I torqued them. All fine in the end.
