Hi everyone, trying to find a solution for this but haven’t seen any results (perhaps I missed a thread) but does anyone know how to remove the HVAC popups on the screen?

i have the temperature read outs up top and the heated/ac seats as physical buttons, but it bothers me that anytime I adjust the HVAC system it shows up on the screen and you cannot do anything until it goes away (preset time limit… tapping elsewhere on the screen doesn’t dismiss the popups).

thoughts?

Best,
JP

@Jpp993 Tbh, I find it annoying, too. I would try this. My truck shows a 0 here in the APIM which means temp repeater is on. If yours shows the same, try changing it to an 8 to disable TR and keep everything else disabled, too.

Lmk if it works. If you are not the FAAFO type, I'll try it on my truck tonight (if I remember). I am not sure what temp repeater is or does, but it sounds like it is worth a try.

@Jpp993 Just be sure to make a backup of the module before you start making changes with Forscan.

I'm in the same place. I hate that everytime I turn down or up the radio volume, it also does this.
I would be grateful to have these screen pop-ups gone.
I know, first world problems, but they are annoying as can be to me.

I posted in the forscan thread about this, but didn't see any replies so I figured it was just me.

It works.

Good riddance.

@Gator9329 I don't think there is a way turn the volume one off as that is the only place it is displayed. I can't say for sure it's impossible, but I didn't see a way of doing it. I only saw the temp and the a/c fan speed pop-ups that can be disabled. They're right next to each other.

That's a great step in the right direction. I'm digging out the forscaan toys tomorrow for this
Thank You!

Two days later and a solution has been found!! @rugedraw huge thanks to you for finding this out and testing it on your rig.
Also great looking dash. I have a 2024 and don’t have the temp display in the hvac knobs (though I hear it’s doable). The screen looks different… is that also something you upgraded to as well?

So far the forscan mods I’ve done:
- Bambi mode
- tried glare free headlight (but turns out not available for 2024+ trucks)
- I would love more ambient lighting color options but I’m not sure if I can choose anything other than light blue (my 2017 truck had a bunch of other colors)
- any other recommendations?

Best,
JP

The temp in the HVAC knobs was only offered on 2021 trucks that were built pre-scamdemic. Once all the mircochip shortages started, Ford took that away. It can be added, but you would need the HVAC from a 2021 and some programming for it to work.

Ambient lighting is only available in one color AFAIK on the newer models. Not sure why Ford cheaped out on the newer trucks.

In response to you and @Samson16:

The layout of the touchscreen I am using is called the Unreal Theme. I know it can be enabled on 21-23 trucks, and it probably will also work on the 2024, but not sure. You would have to try it to see. This mod has been around for years at this point.

I retrofit RGB ambient lighting on my 2022 (along with all of the other deletes Ford removed). Someone finally found the settings to change in Forscan to enable RGB on the APIM for 22+ trucks. I already had OEM RGB LEDs from a 2018 F-150. I ended up de-soldering the current blue only LED from each harness and soldering on the 2018 RGB LEDs. I can now change colors via the display. I need to pull my console apart and replace the last 2 LEDs to complete this project.

Yea, the FORScan part for multi-color ambient lighting is easy. I've known that was there for some time now. Interested in what you used in terms of the lights, though. I would be interested in doing the same for mine. All you did was swap in bulbs from the 2018 truck and enabled it in FORScan?

I was thinking the same thing… grabbing some RGBW led modules and soldering into the OEM wire for the blue only (didn’t know if ford provided you the full spectrum but limited it to blue via software… our boat is like this).
I’d like to figure out a way to add another LED just below the door handle area to shine into the door pockets. Just to illuminate it a tad better down there.

I was curious of the same thing so I tried the Forscan changes as soon as someone found them years ago but the LED color never changed from blue. After doing a lot more research I learned Ford removed RGB ambient lighting after 2021 on all F-150s (Raptor and Raptor R included). All 2021+ F-150s have a blue controller and/or LED chip. I de-soldered the blue only LED board (controller and LED) and soldered on the 2018 LED board (controller and LED). I had purchased a complete set of 2018 RGB door and floor harnesses for a project I had planned on my 2013 however I ordered the 2022 and that project died so I already had the Ford RGB LEDs sitting here. LOL

Also between 2021 and 2022 Ford removed the lower part of the door ambient lighting harness. The 2021 had upper and lower LEDs which shine on the upper door and lower door pockets on all four doors. In 2022, they removed the lower portion of the LED harness from the trucks. There is a slot for the lower pocket LED above the pocket if you can get the right angle to see or you can feel with your hands the slot is there.

I purchased 2021 ambient door harnesses and installed them. This gave me upper and lower door LEDs in blue only as the RGB LEDs were not available to order anymore.

My next step was to replace the actual LED board on each harness with ones from 2018-2020 trucks. They are all three wire controllers/LEDs; power, ground and control signal.

With all of this said, the 2018-2020 LED harnesses with LEDs do work in the new truck HOWEVER the door harnesses are too short to reach the bottom slot for the LED to shine and for the hole the LED mounts to inside the door panel. The routing is longer for the 2021+ trucks due to the new door panel. The harness plugs were the same for my truck but too short so I chose the de-solder/re-solder route.

Here is a picture of when I was “swapping” LEDs. At the top of the picture is the housing/lens the LED board sits in. If I recall correctly, the top LED board is RGB and the bottom is blue only.
