So the mouser one looks similar to me. If you notice there is a white piece on the front in the picture, that piece is the "lock". To remove pins, you have to pull that out away from the connector. You don't have to remove it all the way, it should just pop out, might be a mechanism on the side.

If you don't care about the old connector, you could probably remove it all the way, to give better access to the smaller locks on the individual pins. You need a straight dental pick tool, you will probably want one that is fairly thick, not skinny so it doesn't bend as much. Then you kinda pull on the wire gently and lift the lock and slide the wire out.

One at a time and put it in the new connector one at a time. Be sure they all go back into the same cavity on the new connector as the old one. When they are all in and locked into their individual spots, you press the front white piece back down to lock them into place. If it doesn't go in, you may have some individual pins that aren't fully seated, so verify and try again.

Edit: you can also bend a curved or bent dental pick tool straight to make it work. It should be a metal pick. They probably sell those just about anywhere or even at mouser under a different name.

I broke a release tab on a connector. C242C. I located the connector number in alldata.
It says it's not available. I just need the housing.
There is a number under harness. Does that mean I need to buy the harness?
There is another connector right by it C242B that has a pigtail available. (Super expensive) the cases look identical.

Thought you were looking for a connector ?
Pricing is ridiculous and just has basic connectors - not helpful at all.

I would be on my way to a U Pick scrap yard with a pair of wire cutters and what ever else I need to get to the connector.

Normally I would. But it's been hovering around 1 to 10 degrees. And it's a 30min removal process. That's if the wires and harness isn't frozen. ? lol

It has been a good while, but in my job we had a "pin pusher" tool that would release the locking tab on the pin and allow you to push it out. Easy Peasy. That was round pins only, and that style may be obsolete now.
I have a large assortment of pin extractors.
They are super cheep plastic round and square extractors that simply slide over the pin and slide down the pin and move the locking tab. Theoretically i can remove 20 pins in about 2 minutes. I'm going to have to cut the cloth harness wrap back aways.
That's not going to be easy. The breakout that this particular connector harness is only about 2 inches from the main harness. It going to be nearly impossible to depin each pin and insert into the new connector.
I'm going to have to make note of each color and it's location and de pin the intire connector. It's only 17 wires.
Aircraft nav units have over 80 pins. And the space up under the panel is way tighter. I hated replacing radio trays.
And to make matters worse if I found corrosion on the little needle I have to recrimp new pins. Last one I did took 4 days to do just one connector. Boss said if there is just one pin that had corrosion they all had to be replaced. That was on a falcon jet. Labor was 12k for one connector. I got my normal hourly pay. Should have received hazard pay. Couldn't walk upright for days.
