Put some methol hydrate in the gas tank...5/6 Oz will do....it will clear any frozen fuel line.
If it were "frozen", it would throw some EVAP codes and a check engine light.

I also don’t really think that’s the issue, It is getting fuel because otherwise it wouldn’t start. I tried it probably 10 different times this morning and it starts fine each time just dies instantly.

Almost sounds like antitheft stuff acting when it shouldn't...

It's just a hunch, but bad/broken splugs or coils would exhibit this type of behavior. The splugs are easy to check (cracked/damaged insulator, broken electrode).

On the worse side of things, broken piston ring (check with borescope).

I had a ln 05 Avalon that if you tried to jump start it, it would think you were stealing it and the next time you went to start it it would just crank and crank. Thought it was a electrical deal and spent a couple hours trying to chase down wires and fuses. Eventually read on some random post on the internet that you had to lock the doors with the key and then unlock them and it would reset the security system.

Worked every time after that.

I've seen this behavior when the fuel filter is clogged/restricting fuel flow. Maybe give it a swap?

Can't replace what's not there.

Sounds like fuel starvation, given it's below freezing, adding in methanol (like HEAT style product) mixed into a gallon or two of gas might be what's needed. These trucks have typical low pressure in-tank pump (sub 100psi) that feeds a high pressure pump powered by the engine (2k psi). Sounds like just enough fuel is making it to the high pressure to fire, but not enough to keep it running. Given there's no fuel pump code, blockage is the likely culprit.

Such is the issue w/ ethanol fuel, it's hygroscopic and will pull water out of the atmosphere. Water is heavier than gasoline and will settle on the bottom. Adding in concentrated methanol will help put the water back into suspension (water and alcohol mix quite well) and lower the freezing point / help melt the ice that's creating the blockage. Some fuel is making it, just not enough.

In my experience, no matter how blocked it is, a fuel system restriction sputters and shuts off. Anything that can flow enough fuel to start again soon after having shut off due to fuel system restriction also flows enough fuel for the shutoff to not be absolute and instantaneous.

Spitballing here:

Over on the Escape forums with ecoboost engine some report stalling (or very rough idle) after filling up the gas tank. May or may not throw an evap code. It’s often the evap purge valve (usually) or ”charcoal canister” (occasionally). Doesn’t stall out when gas tank not full. OP said they fueled up last night to 100%. OP when you fuel up how many additional “clicks of gas” do you add once the gas station pump shuts off the first time? Multiple clicks tend to lead towards this issue.

I doubt this is it but it’s 2 minutes to do and free: stick the white fuel funnel adapter in and out a few times in the fuel nozzle to make sure the filler pipe vent is sealing ok. Adapter funnel probably behind passenger rear seat back near jack. This one often throws a P0442 code on F150.

Thanks for the reply, I will try that. I always just fuel up till it clicks off. I don’t add any after the first shut off.

It wasn’t clear above in my description but those two paragraphs are two different possibilities I was throwing out there. It is even less likely yours is the first one since you only click it to the first shutoff. Could in theory still be the problem with evap purge valve but it’s less likely than had you said you click it five more times getting to the nearest gallon or dollar.

I got my pickup back running tonight. Got a code reader and checked the codes. See attached picture. I cleared the codes and it starts and runs fine now. I drove it about 10 miles, shut it off and restarted. No problems. Probably need to get a sensor replaced? Looks like that has to do with the O2 sensor or mass airflow.
