Before I even start- I know, it’s small, and a million things in life to worry about over this, but I’m still bothered..

My truck was with my local dealer for about a week, getting the rear axle recall finished, and a few other things. They delivered it to my house while I was gone, and when I got in it yesterday, here is the first thing I noticed:

Ford F-150 Truck came back from dealer with broken interior stitching IMG_5389
Ford F-150 Truck came back from dealer with broken interior stitching IMG_5387

Now, I always take exterior photos before a dealer visit, but I don’t take interior photos, and a week before I left for vacay I was doing my normal cleaning routine and applied leather conditioner to my interior and it most certainly was not like this.

I KNOW it’s tiny, I’m not sure if it is a hill worth dying on, but its still annoying that my truck has a new cosmetic blemish caused by someone else.

Yes my truck is a pavement princess, and yes I’m not the most fun at party’s lol

But I still like having nice things, taking extra care of those things, and keeping them nice because I work hard for the money I spend on them!

What would you guys do?

take back and have them fix. if it's under 3 years old and 36K the bumper to bumper warranty should cove it.

Damn that sucks, I'd certainly take it to them and show them the damage but given my experience with dealerships the odds are they will likely attempt to deny their tech(s) damaged the arm rest or will put up some resistance to replacing it. Some won't and will own up to it and fix it but many wont.

The 3/36 warranty does not cover upholstery damage, same as not covering body dings.

Just as with a body ding, you'll have to talk the dealer into covering it as a result of negligence /damage during shop services.

Good luck.

You’d be better off simply going to a upholstery shop. For an experienced upholstery repair shop. This would be an extremely quick and easy fix. Don’t think you could say that with the dealer.

You are absolutely right. Didn't even occur to me that option was out there. lol. @catskills837 Any decent upholstery repair shop should be able to re-stitch this and get it back to you in a day.

And have dealer pay for it.

It can be warranty under the right circumstances, unfortunately if you go to the second last page on the PDF your case would be comparable to the steering wheel stitch that looks cut unless you create a skipped stitch or something.:devilish::sneaky:🤫
