I am new here but want to mention my 22 STX 2.7 EB has same issueI wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this or is it just my truck so I can get it looked at. Anytime I start my truck after it has been sitting overnight or parked for hours while I am at work, I have this happen. Right after starting it, if I put it in to drive and try to drive it, the engine will rev up, but the truck will barely move. The best way I can describe it: It feels like a manual transmission with a badly worn clutch that is slipping. I don't know if maybe it takes a bit for the fluid in the transmission to get circulating before the torque converter can do its job properly, but I don't remember this being an issue when I first got the truck, and I know for a fact in other vehicles I have owned, this was not an issue. I am due for an oil change anyway, so a dealer visit is in the near future, but I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this. If not, then I know something is not right.
Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.I have this exact same issue. Mine seems to go away when the transmission warms up. I consider this to be a major safety issue. This morning, I attempted to pull out from a parking lot onto a road with a 50mph speed limit, the engine revved but the truck barely moved. It seems like if I pull my foot off the throttle, and reapply it, it will engage as it should. It is not a good feeling the watch traffic coming at you at 50mph+ while you are helplessly creeping along at under 5mph! My first thought is that the trans was under-filled from the factory, but I have not checked the fluid to confirm it. I have 15k on my truck and have seen this from time to time since the truck was new. It seems to be happening a little more frequent lately. Checking the fluid on these is a pain, but I think that should be the first course of action. Then maybe I will take it to the dealer for an inspection and maybe a fluid/filter change? Has anyone had any success fixing this issue?
Sorry, while I appreciate your effort, I'm looking for a solution to the problem. My local dealer is the opposite of a solution. If I they were a legitimate option, I would have started there. Unfortunately, I have dealt with "my local dealer" too many times over the past 20 years, with no success. They can't even do an alignment or a brake job correctly. Most times my vehicle comes back to me with more issues and damage than it had when I left it there. No thank you! I have to leave town and travel 30 miles to get decent service. I can fix most problems faster than I can get there and back, and I'm a much better mechanic.Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I havent had this experience exactly.
Every now and then i'll give my truck a little gas pedal input and it'll just rev up and immediately after i'll get a inverter overload or similar message. Usually i'll let off and its back to normal. No DTC's or MIL. I have a powerboost so the situation is normal.
Also, huge LOLz at the reply to Ford. Spit my coffee out on that one.
