I think it’s the combo of tires and the center of gravity, my 5.0 w/ 3.31s is barely even working a sweat at the limiter with those tall gears. The motor would go a lot faster, but going around a bend? Scary stuff in a 4WD pickup at those speeds.

I've been up at 150-170 mph in a few different cars, and it can get a bit unnerving when the aerodynamics start to lift the car off the road!

And my PB tops out at 106.

That's interesting. I thought they let the 5.0 have a little more top speed because it takes longer to get there... ;)

I'm here all week. Try the lobster!

I have read they are governed to 105/106 due to the driveshaft length. Not something you want exploding at that speed.

Not sure about that.
The OEM tires are T speed rated to 118mph. 105mph limit is a safe margin.
My Outback Touring XT has H rated tires(130mph) and is speed limited to 117mph.

I just know my 3.5EB will run comfortably at the posted 85MPH on my nearby tollway, plus a tad .... beyond that I've got no interest :ROFLMAO:
me to
i have however seen 108 in my 2016 expedition, passing on a 2 lane easy as pie.
i have also seen 106 in the 2022 on same stretch here that i needed to pass, again it got there faster than i expected
and seems to coast pretty far until it gets back to 75

i find on the highways limit of 75 it cruises very nice at 77 to 80 to keep up with traffic.
